new to a big dog and this forum. I purchaced a 2005 mastiff in May, rode it 600 miles to Street Vibrations in Reno last weekend and broke down in Virginia City. Was riding in the rain, bike shut off like I hit the off switch. all lights on, full battery power, full fuel, no crank, no start. acted like i was not pushing the "run" button. I turned key on, pressed the run button and jumped the starter soliniod with a pocket knife and could crank but no spark. again acting like no power to the ignition coil. Just trailered home and have not done any other diag. as of now except look at online wire schematics to see that all functions from the right switch bank are running to the computer as data. Any suggestions on where to start?

If you were riding in the rain I would pull the connectors from the EHC, blow the connectors, both EHC and Harness, out with compressed air, insert dielectric grease into the EHC connectors and plug the Harness back in and check it again.

BD = Big Drip (No Run). That's bike #2 I now noticed is to add rain plus BD = No Spark. My winter teardown with a hot mug of whatever franco's drinking, is to lube the cables and dielectric the internal handlebar switches and every connector on that bike.

Now out the gate I'll ask is... What is compression? Has H2O met BD in the last outing, the bike does not spark?

spray the switches to get out any moisture.

That kill switch has a drop laying on that hot wire to the switch housing and no spark but everything else works [variable]. I'd still use one of those fishing oil needles of grease as an applicator, dielec running down the needle and into the switches you can't pack behind. Force some into that toggle kill arm. That's probably where it's sitting if it's moisture related I would imagine?

When you say it runs like you killed it at the switch, you rode home from some meet that had the word 'vibration' and that kind of kill might be at the coil and that wire vibrating loose/broken off [variable] is another place to look... if the lights are on and no one is home you pull over, right? It's not like you lost everything. All you lost was spark.

Are you seeing any lights on your ignition module once you crank the scoot over?

I guess I left out some info. no crank, no start. I can not get the engine to turn over from the start switch. Acts like i am not hitting the run button. I jumpered the starter soliniod and get it to crank but no spark. From the left side of the bike looking down at the LED lights there are 2 rows of 9 lights. row a at the front and row b along the battery.

When I turn on the key on blue led at b3 is on steady. yellow at a8 on steady and yellow at b8 blinks. No other light activity from pushing run or start.

so, after seeing this link, i found that ehc light blue (compression relief) left rear turn led on, right led flashing. no other lights come on, no power up, no starter, and now my high beams do not work either
