Lot59 - I'm running a Mukuni on my K9. Doubt you have to "rejet" because they use a jet needle that has about 5 settings, it's like having 5 jets on one needle, just adust it.

Go here and download the manual: Welcome to Mikuni Power - Carburetor Manuals

To get to the jets, remove the large square on the very top of the carb - moving the needle down towards the floor will make it leaner, moving the needle up will make it richer.

Service Hint - get a buddy and have him hold the throttle wide open while you're removing the jet needle...

Now, if you max out the needle, for example you have it all the way down (lean) and you're still rich, then and only then do you switch to the next size needle. To know your needle number you'll need a magnifying glass and look at the fat end the needle and it's engraved there - you have to look hard to find it, but it's there.

Got any questions, PM me.

Man.... Thanks Lambo. This sounds like a piece of cake.
It is running rich. It also, if I throtte it quick, it misses, pops, then revs up. Also at idle speeds it misses. Then if I gun it, it misses really bad.
Will this clear all that up, or will I have to adjust mixture screw as well, and if so... how do I know what to look for.

Sorry to sound so stupid, but this is my first V-Twin. Traded my Jap bike straight up for this basket case bike. Well not a basket case...but the guy had it torn totally apart. Has been a job... but I really love the bike. Just need it to run right.

Again.... Thanks so much for the tips....Hope I dont ware out my welcome since I will have alot of questions.

The problem with it pucking when you stand on it is the accelerator pump setting. Turn the screw clockwise about 1/4 of a turn - ride it - give it another 1/4 turn - ride it, etc.

You'll know when you hit the sweet spot. The manual says it should be almost touching the stop - for me I have it about 1/2 turn past the stop to the right.

If you're rich at idle, back out the idle mix screw to the left.

What's nice is you can do all these while riding and with a small screwdrive.
