Help in Tampa

Energy One

All, I am in Tampa for 6 mths in the military. My bike suddenly died on the way to work this morning. I replaced the EHC with the PDM 6 mths ago. It has been riding great since. Basically, at about 40 mph, the speedo lights and blinkers flashed on/off rapidly, and then the bike died, like no spark. I pulled over and tightened the negative battery cable, since it was a touch loose. It turns over good, but will not start (I think either no gas ((even though it has 3/4 tank)) or no spark ((probably)).) I live in a hotel and can only work with the basic tools I brought, and in the hotel parking lot downtown. Anyone in the area that can loan me a place to work on it, possibly give me a hand troubleshooting? Also, any of the brains on here have any solutions they have seen? I plan on checking fuses, etc after work. Anyway to test the ignition to see if it is firing (other than pulling the plugs to check for spark)? Thanks for all the help. This forum rocks!

Thanks for the inputs. I am on MacDill for work, staying at the Mariott Residence downtown. I can obviously wait a day if I need to :)
I have a hummer and trailer, so I will pick the bike up today from the gas station I had to leave it at, and move it to the hotel. Would be great to have a place to work on it.

I'm about an hour or more away, but you're welcome to come here or I can bring my trailer down there. I have one of my tool boxes mounted in it. Not a full shop but enough to probably get you going.

Thanks. I brought my trailer and just got done trailering it back to the hotel. I am gonna take a look and if I am stumped, I think I will take it to Dogs and Hogs in north Tampa. I appreciate the help. Now to trace wires...

I apprecate it. I am trying to find a few dudes to ride with here, or at least a couple places to go. I will get the bike fixed ASAP, but...sorry...the first round is on me for your generous offer.

Do you have all other lights and functions? Have you checked the cam sensor wire for good connection? Do you have the power light on the ignition module?

All other lights and funtions work fine. PDM (vs EHC) so no lights, but I checked the fuses. I checked all my wires, from start to finish and cant find anything...
Since I have limited tools here (since I am not at home), I am thinking it is gonna take a trip to Big Dog & Hogs this evening...

you should have a red light on the ignition module and it should blink when turning over the motor to crank, not dim but full off and full on. you should also have a blue and yellow light on the ignition module that lights up alternately as each side of the coil fires.

If you have the red light but is does not blink, it is most likely a crank position sensor. When my crank sensor went bad a year ago I got one for a Harley that had a different connector and had to slpice it into my wires, still working now.

If you have all the lights blinking on the ignition module then it is probably your coil.
