HELP HELP HELP

Ok so I take the dog (2008 K-9 EFi) out for a great ride about 100 miles nice crisp weather. no rain. come home and park it back in the garage, go to dinner with the family then after returning home I open the garage door to find my dog with all the lights on except (headlight) I turn the key switch on then back off no help it all stays on, the fuel pump pressurized when the run button pushed bike fired up, turn off still have the running lights and dash lights with key off... WTF!! is going on.

Disconnect battery and pull apart the connections on the EHC put some dielectric grease on them and reassemble and say a prayer.
Check harness and look for wires worn through grounding out.

yes Mo its the OEM, I did get a new wire plus kit from Jake but its still in the box waiting till I need it. Guess what I think I need it lol.. I just wanted to know if anyone else ever had this problem I have never heard of this before. thanks

Its strange no one has had this happen, I cant find a grounded wire....ANY MORE IDEAS PLEASE???

Only ideas that come to mind is 1st the EHC is known to do many weird things, as so many posts have stated

2nd, grounded wires can be hard to spot, such as chaffing against the tank and backbone of the frame, or chaffing behind the rear fender stuts. There have been several post about wires being exposed under the tank.

My bet would be on the EHC. I have never read a post where someone had these wierd occurences after the Wire Plus install.

Maybe inside your headlight is a lose wire or wire burn ,because I had that with my headlight.

The keyswitch and/or the keyswitch wires. I think the keyswitch pulls the key signal wire to ground when you turn on the keyswitch normally. So if the keyswitch signal wire is intermittently shorting to ground somewhere it will turn on the bike. Headlight NOT on is a clue....like said earlier....check the head light wires in the bucket.

Thanks guys, the wire inside the key-switch was melted to the frame and a wire inside the headlight bucket was worn thru a little, rubbing on the edge of the bucket. guess I didn't do such a super hot job with my new inverted front end lol... anyways THANK YOU for all the ideas, im not sure what i would do without all your help.. mike
