Help for a clueless, chopperless, guy

Thunderheart pulses, but not steady. It'll light up and the bike will sound like it wants to start, but won't stay steady.

I wish I could post a video of it pulsing, just not pulsing steadily.

I haven't had time to pull the cam sensor and check it yet, but it's on my list for this weekend (hopefully).

Someone would have to tell me how to diagnose an EHC problem before I could say anything about that.

Clueless about mechanics, but love to ride.

Leave the EHC alone... I am sure its fine... ("always" blamed wrongly) do the tests as the guys have mentioned.... go to the "How To" Section (Bottom of my signature block if you want a short-cut) there you will find "How to read your EHC".

Check ALL wires... Battery, etc. the vibrations on our Dogs tend to make everything lose.....

Keep us posted on your findings, lots of blokes here with similar symptoms at the end went to fid out it was just a crimpled wire somewhere... :up:

If your getting a erratic signal Pulse on the ThunderHeart module,then pull the Nosecone cover off the side off the engine,and check the Cam sensor....see if its Burnt up, or melted in anyway,(burnt stinky smell).......if it is...replace it.......

Cam sensor looks ok. No burnt looking places or anything like that. Again, not a mechanic, but it seems to be ok. I pulled my headlight out because the EHC shows an amber light that is supposed to be the Main Power indicator. The high beam would not come on. After fighting that out, I found that the wire harness that connects to the prongs on the headlight had melted on the ground wire. I replaced all of that and still nothing. The headlight will come on, but only the low beam, not the high beam. The EHC light just flashes when I turn the key, but comes on steady when I try the defunct high beam.

I'm assuming I have something wrong somewhere in the wiring that's causing it not to fire correctly, but I'm kinda at a loss where to go now. I've tried to check all the wiring, and it seems fine, but I'm sure I'm missing something.

Any other ideas out there? I really hate to take it to the dealer and pay the crazy labor rates, but I'm scraping the bottom of the idea barrel.
