Help! Belt issue.

I’m in sturgis, rode 6 miles belt broke. No biggie. Went and got one. Got it all put together. Tightened the belt. Aligned the wheel. Roasted tire by hand. Belt walks off front pulley. It comes off about 1/2”. Then stays there.
How do I fix that type of alignment issue?
ive never had the trans out and I would almost think its in a fixed position due to the primary.
do I fix it by moving one side of the tire back? Maybe im over thinking it. Please help.

I had forgot to hit send on the thank you.
I have adjusted three times. I thought it was tracking good. Was going to run into town. Made it like three miles and it was like my clutch went out. What the hell?????

coasted to side let it cool down. Started it was able to go half mile. Called my son for a truck and trailer. My new belt with 10 miles on it is shredded.

Unless you have a bad bearing or something else going. Belt too tight? adjust the tracking and run it with the back tire in the air and see what it does at higher speeds. I would say the issue that caused your belt to break in the beginning is the real problem and replacing the belt won’t fix anything. Just my opinion. I am usually wrong tho. Best of luck with it.
