Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the help. I'm going to fill you in a better on what's going on and pick a little farther. Everything on the bike seems to be working. The issue started after I went to start at the beginning of the year and my battery terminal got hot enough to melt the positive side. I replaced the battery, once hooked up the blinker indicator lights on the speedo lit up(key on or off didn't matter). I then started testing wires following sources from these forums. At that time I had two wires showing shorts one to the VR, I tested and replaced, went ahead and replaced the stator as well. After putting everything back together no more short from the VR wire(yay), bike fixed... not. When i hooked up the other wire, turn lights on again same scenario. I am at the point of replacing PDM system as Curtis and others have suggested, however, I'm thinking this is the system that someone has already replaced the EHC with so I'm hesitant to shell out the $$$ to replace with another system as well as I read one guy that had done this and found out that the short was in an existing leg and still remained after his change out(I don't want to be that guy). Here's where I'm at: Is the short in the annunciator(tach), the wiring or the HCI. It seems like a process to check but my bikes in pieces so any advice or knowledge of the best ways to rule out each one would be appreciated. BTW the upside of this is I have never worked on this bike myself and am learning alot. Although my first thought was this guy seems a little crazy....Marks Asylum on you tube has been great!
