I think Big Dog Biker needs to take some TUMS!!! (before it turns into Big Dog AARP)!

EXCUSE ME, but the OTHER thread (3406 views and 147 replies) started by you know who (with DRAMA, SUSPENSE, AND loads of BIG DOG NEGATIVITY) who then said, and I quote: "I like baggers and they are the "new" choppers" :bang: :bang: :bang: really had no place on this site (in this context) and was just WRONG (especially coming from a senior respected member who had contributed SO GREATLY to the BIG DOG BIKER website).

THERE, I SAID IT, in my(not so) humble opinion), Shovelcowboy

And "LONG LIVE CHOPPERS" AND BDM

Courtesy of D Mann (choppers have been around for a long time. So have baggers. Choppers are Choppers and baggers are baggers).

Can't argue with that ! LONG LIVE CHOPPERS ... If I had to sell all my bikes and keep just one ..."not likley" it would be my Chopper. This site is devoted to BDM . I still love ya Criss just going have to ride in the rear now:lol: I gota feeling you will have another one soon .

Hey I didn't invent that line about the baggers...

The trends change... that is just the way it is... don't believe that... what is the newest hot bdm out right now? A wolf with bags? Just sayin...

Further, I have still said... that the bdm bikes are nice. Been saying for a while that they have some large negative bits. I'm not the first one to rag on them a bit and I was still nice about it.

And you say something about a "senior respected member"... but doesn't my change up say something at the end of the day about bdm?

I respect Gas's choices. Just don't agree with the way he presented it on this site.

No, I only noticed that similarity myself after I had made the post. Thanks for noticing. I like it!

Speaking of this thread (my post). If I get numerous negative comments directed at me, I'll take my bikes (Harleys and Big Dogs), ride out of here, and never come back. Who needs THAT (especially if you voice an honest and concerned opinion)!

This all brings me back to Raywoods stories, and how they were always wrenching on them bikes, makes you wonder how many of us would still be on HD's had we had to do that all the time. How many would have switched to ricers.... to avoid the possibility of getting stranded or having to wrench on them...I have and am ready to do what it takes to keep my K-9. :) All part of it........compared to Raywoods ordeals I've had it easy.

 Shovel:2thumbs:

BB you crazy fuker!

I think that I presented my case being frank on why I made my choice. I don't believe I was being down right overly negative. For respect to you Shovel I apologize if it came off that way.

But I don't stand alone here with some negative feelings about certain aspects of bdm parts, look at what some members do just to get away from them. Alhall just spent hundreds of dollars and lots of time on his bike to take it from a running EHC bike to a EHC-less running bike. Hundreds of dollars to just have a running bike again at the end of the day. Why? To rid himself of the "pending doom" (as I've been coined for recently) with the EHC. Jake himself has damn near had EHC-less tatooed on his forehead for months now. These are just more examples to support what I've said.

I have said V&H is crap too. Should I be drug out in front of the firing squad for that too? I use to have a set of BR and just like the BDM they were a love hate thing. Loved the look, hated that everybody else did too, hated their stupid decel pops like a ghatlen gun. But that company can't make a baffle that is worth a shit if their life depended on it. Tons of people have had them rattle out. That isn't just BR... I know 3 other guys with V&H that have all had the same thing. However there are some that have had no issues, yet I stand behind my feeling about V&H and I'll never own another one of their pipes.

Did BDM have issues with putting TP rockers on S&S motors that was BEYOND stupid? YES

Have they had, untill recently the newest version of EHC, an ignorant amount of ehc failures? YES

Do they have assembly line problems with trans nuts getting never sieze instead of loctite or not being torqued well enough? YES

Are they one of the best companies in making up for said problems with great corperate customer service? YES

Did HD have problems with their EFI at first? YES

Did HD have problems with their throttle by wire? YES

Will HD stand behind said problems as well as BDM? Probably not

Does HD do a great job with R&D? YES

Does BDM do a great job with R&D? Somewhat... but I think they could do better.

I'm just stating my reasoning for switching up. Being frank about it is just being truthfull.

Hell while he's at why not throw out the people that roam the site and don't even own a fucking bike ? All of us were brought to this site by one common interest, Big Dog Motorcycles. But no one told us when we signed up, we HAD to own one, work on it ourselves, sell all our other bikes, tattoo the logo on our ass and push it when it breaks down. Ya know, I respect what Gas wrote the other day about pretty much keeping quiet about all the issues he had with his BDM. Not putting out the truth of what he was thinking on his displeasure with mechanical issues etc. Well, here is my truth, I'm a Harley supporter and will always be a Harley supporter. They make one damn fine dependable bike. It's a damn shame with all the technology that exists, BD fights the problems they have. Good warrenty service ? Sure they do, if they didn't have that, I'm sure many potential buyers would walk away from buying one. Not to many owners on this site that have not had some problem or issue from what I have read. And yes Shovel, I may not be a SENIOR member, but I'm a CORE member of this site. I guess there are at least two of us on this site that a BAGGER is our new chopper. Mine is for sale, has been for over a year, and I hope the new owner of it someday doesn't have all the bullshit issues the other owners have had.

As someone who has ridden with both Shovel and Gas man and have enjoyed both of you gentleman's company, always realize that this is NOT a BDM sponsored site.... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion be it BDM pro or con.

Knowing Gas, I'm sure his response on selling his chopper was not meant to antagonistic.
And knowing Shovel and his love of Choppers who I know has driven his all around the country without problems, usually always makes lemonade out of lemons.

Both of you guys are Aces in my book and I would hate to lose either of you....

Just my 2 cents.....

Al, thanks for the kind words in both Gas's and my direction. Much appreciated my friend!

I really meant no disrespect and even tho I haven't met Chris, I did (from our posts and communications) consider him my friend (I hope we still are).

This thread was only meant as my view on his "Change up" thread which I believed caused many others (besides me) heartburn.

So in the interest of "Making Nice" as the Dixie Chicks would say, May I offer EVERYONE SOME TUMS as a way of apologizing for stirring the pot.

Al, you are great with diplomacy! Shall we fire Hillary and send you to settle the Israeli/Palistinian issue?

LTFTA. Which stands for "let the fucking thing alone". Gas I know you are good around the bike but man the more you dive into any vehicle or bike, the more you have room for something to go wrong. It's all macho to say I did this and that to my motor but you are not nor am I an expert so I leave well enough alone. I feel you created your own problems with your chopper and every time you went out you had to adjust or tighten or repair some sort of modification that you made and ultimately you had your fill of. So if you want to downgrade to a Harley then so be it but it's not the machines fault at all.
PS: Good luck finding it at a rally amongst all the others that look just like it. Peace brother!
