Headwinds HID kit

Energy One

I wish I had more money.
Hey Eric. I think Jake actually put the kits together himself. He sourced parts and did it all. He found a mini micro ballast that would fit into our light housing.

I know sadly Jake stepped out of the ring on these. However I am interested in the HID kit as well.

Does anyone know who manufactored the kits that Jake was selling?

If you are referring to a HID kit I would like to have it.

I've done a few of these HID upgrades to bikes / cars in the past, and what I've found is they work best when used with an HID projector in front of the bulb- it focuses the light better vs just letting the HID bulb scatter brighter light everywhere.

There are some mini projector kits on ebay that come with a shorty projector housing that fits in the H4 hole on lamp bucket. uses a single HID bulb. hi / low beam is handled by the projector housing, it moves the projector focus slightly to change between hi / low beam spread. But yeah usually the biggest issue with HID on motorcyles is being able to stash the ballast. I'm going to go with a 5 3/4" JW Speaker LED setup (same as the HD Daymaker), I've seen it in person on my bud's 09 Road Glide. Holy hell it puts HID to shame. plus no ballast to worry about, no heat, no high amperage draw.

Anybody have an update to this? With the advances in LED headlight technology (think HD Daymaker headlights) maybe one of our vendors can supply a kit for our Dogs??

When putting the ballast into the headlight bulb how did you secure it? RTV Silicone?

Could you possibly scan/upload the instructions?
I would just use 3M double sided tape that is how I secured the ballast on my HID's for my car. You can always double the tape up if you need more to secure it to the curve of the headlight bezel.

LED is pretty cool, Some are complaining that problem is that the edge of the somewhat narrow beam is very sharp. In the corners you don't see where you are turning. I have been thinking to get one eventually...

I have a 40w one-led flashlight in my boat, it is ridiculously bright. I can barely use it, I'm scared to burn somebody's eyes to raisins.

Been running the LED now for a little while and i wouldn't go back to an H4 bulb. Never tried an HID so i cannot compare it but the LED is great!! I got the black face but the chrome should be out now - got it thru headwinds but it a jw speaker product
