Is it necessary to completely remove the heads in order to put in new 640 springs with a cam change? Or can it be done from the top without removing the head assembly?
I did it on my 05 but it was tough. Used compressed air with the piston at TDC so I wouldn't drop a valve beyond retreval. Took just about every tool
I had to get it done but did it.
there is a new tool on the market by Nub tools but haven't seen one in use yet. and its kind of pricey.
But buy one and let use know how it goes. Then sell it to one of us and we can keep passin it on
yeah I think it will definitely be removing the heads for the springs...and you are right if they are off, might as well get the valve job. Anyone know the amount I could also deck the head for more compression? I think that is also a popular task done while the heads are off the 05???
Damn Justin, long time no hear. Wat up? Justin was da man who introduced me to this site. You could love him or hate him for that. I had mine changed while the S&S Rocker boxes were being installed. Of course you have to do the cam too if ya want to go fast
yeah man, without a doubt long time! Seat is still in perfect shape...I guess that is pretty good for red leather pants right!
I have the 600 cam and 640 springs sitting in my garage rearing, ready to go. I just want to make sure I have all of my ducks in a row before I do the project. I kinda want to do it all in one fatal blow you know.
