headlight stays on?

I have a 2005 bigdog ridgeback. It starts and stops fine but when you kill the engine and shut the ignition off the headlight stays on. If I hit the high beam switch the light will shut of for about 30 seconds and then turn back on. Everything else on the bike shuts off and you can not start it. I can not figure it out. Anyone know what is going on? Thanks

Start with the standard EHC advice. Disconnect the - ( ground) side of the battery first then the + (positive) side. Check and clean all connections then put the + side back on first then the - side (ground). Cross your fingers and hope you fixed a bad connection.

Does the hi-beam work when the bike is running? It flipping between low-hi or vice versa is frequently an indicator of burned out bulb/not enough load (was issue with HID's)

And to verify, you turn bike off and pull the key and the light stays on?
What are you doing to stop it running down the battery til its dead?

What is the 'tag light assembly'? Find that, pull the plug connectors apart. Shows one way diodes so maybe a failure in the tag assy?

Are you sure those diodes on the schematic aren't the LED tag light

I replaced my EHC with a D O C’s unit a year or so ago. The only eccentricity is that the kill switch works fine, but if I use it to turn off the engine then turn the key to ‘off’, the check engine light stays on. If I just use the key and leave the kill switch alone, everything is normal, so I usually just do that.
So-do you have the stock EHC? Maybe try just using the key to turn off the bike.

Those DIODES are the LED lights in the tag light assembly.

Is the tag light on?
Are the tail lights on?

Totall2Tall -- when did this start? What changed? Was it after something was done, anything. Was it after a ride, after washing the bike, after adding aftermarket leds?
