Mr. Wright
Knows some things
I know there are several threads on headlight repair, but I’ve found a couple of things to make it easier. Changing my plug out was on my list of things to do this winter, but never got to it.:bang: After our ride Sunday it became a necessity, plus the inside of glass had a white fog residue.
The set screws came right out, but if yours don’t, there are threads that talk about that. What a lot of people have been having problems with is getting a hold of the outer chrome ring. I found a pair of gloves called flexi grip, that have rubber on the palms, so you can put a death grip on any thing you can grab on to. My ring spun right out, because when I put it together the last time, I sprayed it and the inner ring with Silicone multi-use lubricant.
The foggy lens took a little thinking, because the last time I washed it, it didn’t come clean. This time after I washed it, I took one sheet of a blue shop paper towel and put it in the light, and blew air into it. This made the towel flop around in there and polished it crystal clear.
After that I installed my new plug and light bulb.
WOW, can you see me now.
