headlight casing problem

I was just shining up my 08 Mutt and trying to get it ready for Daytona Bike week and I noticed my headlight was loose. I just gave it a little wiggle and the thing fell apart. I know this is a cast part but it just fell apart!!! It looks to me that it was a bad cast or the vibration from the Mutt just shook it apart. has anyone else had this problem?

I just bought a mutt from a dealer a few weeks ago. I had him do a complete service as part of the deal and when I read the invoice it said he changed the headlight at no charge. It must be a problem with all of them. Bring it back to your dealer.

It is the actual large housing that holds the bulb. There are two bolts inside the headlight housing that hold it to the mount. That is were the metal stressed and cracked and finally just fell apart rite around the two bolts. Good thing I wasn't on the road.

That's unusual. Using it's the two bolts that break on the mounting tab. Many threads here on this subject.
First I've head of the shell breaking. Warranty will take care of you though.

Called the dealer and they said bring it in and they will give me a new one.

Happened to my 04..... 2 years out of warranty.
When I replaced it I put rubber spacers inside and outside at the mounting, just in case.
Lucky yours will be taken care of by the dealer.
