I bought the bikers choice spike head bolt covers and the two inner covers that are close to the ignition had problems with clearance. I had to take off the ignition cover so they could get underneath and still hit because they were too tall. I made it work but I would stay away from them. I wanted the spike covers from low down chops but they weren't available any longer. Personally I would use S&S ones also or the BDM magnetic. :zz2cents:

There is a guy on ebay, that sells the "magnetic head bolt cover" (no set screws) to fit your S&S engine. They come new in a S&S package, and are chrome, very nice.

I am seeking some now that have the set screw to hold them on. I have a set of the magnetic ones and am batting 500 with them. I have lost two out of four of them. The magnet holds onto the bolt head, but the aluminum spike comes unglued from the magnet. :loony:

The H-D covers didn't fit right for me. The S & S magnetics have worked with no loss issues. BigDogPartsKing or Shovelheadkicker have them on Ebay...around $45.

I made my own spike covers out of stainless. Even though I did put a set screw in the covers, I still used a little silicone for some extra holding power. I actually use silicone under many other covers, learned that after loosing a few covers through the years.

I can only speak for myself, but, the S&S magnetic head bolt covers have been on my Pit Bull, for over 5 thousand miles, NEVER LOST ONE..... No silicone, or any other adhesive, in fact mine are a pain in the butt to get off, when I want to polish the heads...

I h.ve had the Magnetic ones on my personnel Bike for amost 10,000 miles and are still tight as a drum, never lost one.

Almost every set of headbolt covers , on a BDM, will have to have the coil cover loosened to install them.

If you put a set of set screw covers on, first thing you need to do it replace the set screws with stainless ones,
and put anti-sieze on them too. Otherwise, first time you want to remove them, they will be rusted on.

I recently purchased the "kiss spike" headbolt covers from 'hammer custom cycles' in the Phoenix,AZ area.He advertises them on eBay.I also ordered the same style of bolt head covers for the handlebar bolt heads under the top tripletree..both sets look so killer! You got to check them out if you like that spike style.

Thanks for all the inputs guys!!

I tried to get a set from Jake but he didnt have a complete set in stock so ended with a set for HD on ebay just to see if they will fit.

I'll wait until they get here and let you know the results.
