It can be neither confirmed nor denied that it may or may not have possibly been an issue on some but not all bikes under different various circumstances during a non-specified time period...

It totally agree that I may or may not agree with the stated statement above. I can confirm that what I said may be accurate to said statement in this forum. I do agree that this issue is wack. If motor parts were lost on a Thursday, that explains everything. If any other parts were lost besides motor parts on a Monday, then you should have not ridden to bar.

headset

My vote is for the bottom bolt on the triple-tree.....
it was the bottom nut on the headset which tightens the shaft that runs through the frame it also had a allen screw to hold it tight both peices gone, jel

jel,

You're going to need a "Sky Hook" to reinstall.

You'll need an "Elbow Winch" to tighten it back up.

And you're going to need some "Possum Innereds" to keep it from falling back out.

Can anyone else think of anything I might have missed?

Hope this helps! :2thumbs:

dead,

:D

Yea I had the same thing happen... had to get a board stretcher and a can of No-Run(think it was DuPont):2thumbs:

Get ya another nut and 2 set screws. Lock tite all 3.... use the 2nd set screw as a backup to the first....

There really is only one "head set" on a bike, and one "set of heads".

So if you loose the lock nut off your head set it is much different than loosing a lock nut off your set of heads, seens how there really are no lock nuts on your heads!!!
