Head light, Wolf to an 08 Mastiff

Hi all.
I have an 08 Mastiff. I took it into a Bike shop to get dyna beads installed. When the tech let the air out of the rear tire, it rocked off the kick stand onto the rim and went over. He caught it and it only dented the head light. Shit happens so I wasn't to pissed about it, but.... What pissed me off is he claimed no damage was done. The owner was great and said he'd get it fixed. Initially he was looking in the stock catalogs, but I remember reading that BD are pretty finicky with their electronics.

I knocked most of the dent out with some gentle tapping, but the inner ring/seal I cannot fix. I contacted BDM and they dont have any of my headlight with the peaked top. (dont like the flat front ones).

I have located a oval, eye shaped one off a BD Wolf. Will this, a. fit, and b. connect and not screw with anything on my mastiff?

What a dumb ass for a mechanic. Should have jacked it off the floor. Why risk damaging a rim or tire sidewall? I had a rear flat one time and the bike stood straight up. Wasn't risking anything so I put my helmet under the swingarm to keep it leaning on the kick stand until I made the repair. Find a new wrench......

Check Ebay, there is always a headlight on there.

Had a look at the Adjure site. I managed to get the Wolf head light pretty cheap ($150) so am pretty stoked about that. Especially with ALL BD related items costing a testicle. I also kinda like the look of the Cyclops looking light. Something a little different I guess.

I was actually out the front of the shop chatting with the owner (good guy), when we decided to go out to the shop and he was going to show me something on the bike (I think it was exhaust related). The tech mentioned it wobbled when he deflated the rear tire, but said he caught it. Thats when I saw the dent in the head light. I asked him if it was possible he did it. He said he didnt think so. I went to Home depot before hand so went back down there to ask about looking at their cameras to see if anyone had touched the bike. Get this, Home Depot said I would need a Court Order to access the Camera footage of my bike. Safe to say I wont be visiting any of their stores again.
The owner of the bike shop was good though. He said he'd fix anything that was damaged. Ill get back to him with the the light I got.

I do all my own repairs and servicing, thanks to this site. I think he was fresh out of "Tech School". I figured, its only Dyna beads, ya cant fuck that up lol. He did mention my bike was to long for their lift.

Once I get the new light mounted Ill put some pics up.

Oscar, i looked on the Big Dog site and did not see it available. Is the Adjure light a plug and play or does it take some wire mods?

I had contacted BDM about the light but they only had the round straight front ones. None with the hood like mine.

So I got my new head light in the other day and decided to mount it. I had to bust open the old head light to get at the connections. When the bike was dropped the threaded inner ring was bent so couldnt unscrew it.

I kept all the original wiring in place and simply re routed the existing wires back into the new head light. I also kept the same bulb as it was working fine.

I had to use the original mount for the light and it fit perfectly into the mount for the Wolf light. Dielectric greased the connections and gave the seal a light smear the put it together.

I think it turned out pretty dam good. It actually goes with the lines of the tank I think.

You should put in a ceramic H4 connector so you don't have a melt down.

Ive seen on one of the How To's changing them out. Are they a standard fitting you can get at a regular auto store? Or are they a special order item?

Haha. Yep actually I did. The old one was dented so the inner ring wouldn't spin out. I needed should we say.... Some TLC.

Anybody know why I only have high beam. When I hit the Low button, It jumps right back to high beam. I have been told that the electrical board in the button housing got wet. So if you (the forum) agree with that, where can I get a replacement?

Your low beam is likely burnt out...
