Hi, I have an 03 Pit Bull and have been hearing a noise coming from the motor down by the chain drive. I asked my ex- mechanic about it twice and he said it was normal. we went into his shop and he started another pit bull and said see, the same noise! I am thinking...No mine is louder. So this being my first street bike I relunctly believed him. Well now it has goten louder to the point that I know for a fact the noise is coming from the top of the head. Put a driver to my ear and there is no doubt where it is coming from. this is not a ticking noise like a lifter, it is more like a knocking noise. I am guessing a valve. Can these be adjusted or is this a more serious problem. the motor is a 117 S&S with 10K on it.

How did you get a 117 in an 03?
Be careful out there Josh, ride safe and have someone help you adjust them push rod if you have never done it before. :2thumbs:
