04 Chopper 107CI. The one head bold next to the spark plug on the rear cylinder keeps coming loose. Need to know the how tight in foot pounds and if I should use blue or red loctite. I have tighten this thing a few times now using the old German way. Still comes loose after a ride. Any suggestions??

My head bolt came loose on my 04 107 and then the head gaskets went.Found studs pulling out of the case.Look and see if you have seepage around the head gaskets.Just an idea...Something to look at.

Just a thought, could you mark the bolt to see if it is backing off? If it is not backing off and still still gets loose I would think that it would indicate the stud is pulling out? Maybe you have already verified this.

Had the same problem with my 107" .... ended up being the stud pulling out of the lower end.... not an easy fix but its doable.. I did mine using the "Timeserts" insert kit, comes complete with everything...drill, tap, steel inserts, locktite .... I was able to do my repair with the engine still in the bike..... when done correctly it really works.... you just have to take your time and have all the right tools because you just get one chance at it

They may have streached.... You may want to order new ones and the torque order and specs are on here.

First, tighten each cylinder head bolt to 8 ft/lbs. Then tighten each to 18 ft/lbs and add 1/4 turn.

Boy this is gonna suck. Don't sound like an easy fix. Sounds like a over haul. How did or does the studs get loose in the first place? Tried to find some exploded views from the S&S website. Still don't understand how it gets loose. Isn't the stud threaded into the block? And if one is tightening the top bolt won't that prevent it from coming loose again?

It's all about the alloy. The studs pull the threads out, as torqueis applied.
