how much I absolutely f'ing hate button head socket cap screws. Especially when there is no reason for them other than cosmetic.

Ok, what brought this on you might be thinking.

I went to go on a run with some friends on Sunday and the bikes been a little finicky of late(have to replace exhaust gaskets). Get out on the highway when we leave and it's just not right, not running smooth not rough either but small acceleration surges just noticeable. And then there's that damn check engine light - it's on again.

Ok, peel off and head home. 1/2 mile later lights off, everything's good.

Throw the Protune on the system and look at historic codes (some O2 stuff I knew about) and TPS errors
Cleared the codes and what do you know TPS errors and the voltage at idle is .44 surges to .80 and drops to .36 randomnly

Ok, TPS has got to go -- Not to worry I have one in stock!

F'ing button head cap screws TORX no less and metric.

Ok pull the Air cleaner, bracket alls good. Loosen the front torx, loosen back torx -- nope head gets chewed up!

Tried a couple of things and finaly got it out today without taking more off the bike which I really didn't want to do.

Tomorrow I'll put the new one on -- this time with socket head cap screws but not f'ing button head ones!

RANT OFF

Well, I usually strip the heads, don't strips as near as many threads luckily. Of course I shouldn't say that when I have work yet to do on the bike.

This is as good as place to rant as any Mike. We all understand and sympathize with you. It did get somewhat off topic in a hell of a hurry though.

Mine has the notch, however when I dropped the bowl tonight I found a 96 main jet in it, so its safe to say that was my issue. It had 96 main jet, 36 intermediate and 40 air bleed.
