One time driving truck I took my 72' rig down this GA back road to a Johnson & Johnson plant. I stopped at a local store where 3 guys were on the front porch in rockin chairs. got an Ice tea and asked how far the plant was from there. (you could see it down the mountain) They said "you can't get there from here" I thought they were pulling my leg so I went on. About 4 miles later down a twistin winding narrow 2 lane road there was a 12' bridge and I had a 13' trailer.... 2 hrs later after backing up I stopped at that same local store and the same guys were there. They all laughed and said we told ya so.... gotta love the south... should have asked why...

One time I'm in back of Sanabeil island fishing in my 16' boat when this 32' boat comes speeding up on me, stops and almost capsizes my boat. With a NY accent they ask if there is a gas station near by because they were out of gas. I said yes.... down that canal about a half mile... they didn't ask if it was open..... Shoulda asked....

Damn Bill seems like our paths have crossed in the past. I have spent a lot of time fishing around Captiva Island and the flats of Pine Island Sound for Snook, Trout, and Redfish. Had a job in the late 80's that kept me there almost 10 months. Great times down there other than the humidity.

D.O.T. tends to bother the toter homes and show haulers, and it's kinda rare that they pull motor homes over. The Toters and Show Haulers look more like trucks due to the truck cab (Freight Liner or Benz). Here is mine with the race car trailer on the back. 78 feet. The coach is more stable with the trailer on the back. Yep, long train...lol

Stopped in the Carolinas. Coming back from a race in Florida.

740 bucks in fuel. Round trip from NY to Bradenton, and Bradenton back to NY. Average mph was around 66 to 68. Towing does not seem to change the fuel economy one bit. The diferent fuel economy levels are the following mph's. 52-60 over 13.1, 61-68 11.7, 69-75 (your wallet opens up and someone takes a torch to your money)

Coach 40 foot. Trailer 38 from back of box to tongue.
Man, those ain't cheap Andy..

I had some friends that wanted to try RVing so they rented one and went out West. Then one day they realized they had to empty the tank if ya know what I mean. Well they hooked it up and were pumping everything out when the hose came off and shit went everywhere. They don't RV anymore. :oldlaugh:

Well Da’Bus has been fun but Mrs Life wants to try a 5th wheel toy hauler. So after BB&B i’ll Detail it and put it on the market
That's an interesting change....the RV gives you access to everything on the road and going to a toy hauler will have to stop to get in the back..

Whatever she wants I guess..haha

We looked at the toy haulers first. Then we looked at the class A diesel pushers and 2 bike trailer. I like the convenience of the bus.

Well with a couple of bad day weather we had to sit in at night while at Sturgis. She said,” had we come with a toy hauler we could unhook and take the truck in!” And from now on we will be camping in whatever we decide to get! But she does have a point!!

At my age I'm not worried bout going out to late at night so I'll stick with my current setup for a while longer.

It would be tuff to bring everything but you could get a pusher toyhauler and pick up a cheap toad for the trips and that would cover those rainy nights.

Ya might want to borrow or rent one for a trip or two and see how the bride likes sitting, just sitting and then more sitting in same seat in a truck going down the road vs being able to get up, walk around, microwave or use the toity while galavanting down the road.

Get a stacker trailer for behind the MH so you can haul a car, some toys, or a boat and the chop all inside clean, dry and protected. You can have it all

Rent a car, it's the most economical thing to do when at your destination. Having a rental car hanging around, can make for a great convenience.
