Went to Fall bike week in Myrtle Beach and before going I noticed a very small leak. It was behind the pully and next to tranny. Went to fall bike week anyway did about 650 miles total on the trip. Bike ran great but did have a little spray back of tranny oil. Here is what I found. Old quad seal and spacer on top and new on bottom. Man that quad seal was shot.

Main shaft was tight no movement at all and bearing look good also.

All is good now!

Where did you get the parts? I think that's what's happening to me now. Little leak down the frame behind the oil tank lines.

I did a search on here and found the quad seal and oil seal are HD part #'s. I did replace the spacer due to the scoring and nicks on it. The quad seal HD# 11165 and the oil seal/ main shaft HD# 12067B. The pully nut is left hand and is
1 7/8" socket. I don't have the spacer # but I am sure HD will know what you need. It took about 1 1/2 hours. Hope that helps.

Maybe I have the same problem, I have some tiny oil leak somewhere on the right side of the bike that I can't understand where it come from, but it make my back wheel dirty and even the right side of the tire get all oily. Does that happen to you too? Or my leak is something different?

Denny, one of the easy things to check is your transmission drain, I have a leak on mine, can't seem to fix it correctly

Yep- I would check behind the pully cover and under it for brown or dark oil.

Good info, appreciate it; sounds like I'm going to be needing a new socket...
Yea I didn't have a 1 7/8ths socket got it at Tractor Supply. Inpack wrench took the nut right off. Simple fix just had to take off pipes and loosen back wheel after I got the pully nut loose to get slack to get it off the pully. Pulling seals was a piece of cake. Make sure your spacer is not scored or has dents in it. I just replaced mine.

I need to do this and I needed part numbers! Thanks

If you had that spacer p/n that would be the perfect trifecta :flag::2thumbs:

I will get the spacer pn# shortly. The spacer price is around $27 both seals were about $9 total. No more tranny leaks
