Harley-Davidson stock downgraded

For those of you that take an interest in the stock market, Harley was downgraded yesterday from "HOLD" to "SELL". I'm sure all motorcycle companies are having problems selling inventory with the economy in the tank. This will not get better over-night. It will be interesting to see what the resale value will be in a few months for BDM, and even Harley. I can see BDM offering hugh discounts or rebates, if sales are slow.

7% drop in one day - but don't forget the market was down 500 points for the week. Discretionary income is always the first one to take a hit.

I think we have another 18 months to go......

I saw my first Rocker at a local Harley dealer yesterday - that coulda caused their stock to drop 10% all by itself - what a Fugly Ucker! ... and the usual cheap looking components and poor fit 'n finish. The sales staff was gushing all over how cool it was - to each his own, I guess.

Harley stock dropping is a sign of the times.

Raywood and I stopped in at the Olympia dlr recently and Harley is selling certain models with 1.05% financing. The economy is in trouble, discreationary spending is slowing dramatically. These bikes are not a neccessity, thus the sale of these bikes will continue to decline, resulting in a vicious cycle that will see employees being laid off.
What a cycle.

I also have yet to see that fugly ucker, and I am ok with that. Seen pics, that is enough.

I met a guy over the holidays that said he had one on order. He was pissed when I told him that was one fucking ugly bike. To him to get a bdm.

he looked like someone kicked his dog.

Went to the bd dealer today and looked at the 08 mutt, pitbull and ridgeback they had in. For the same price or more the mutt would kick the shit out of that ugly thing. Put a big enough girl on the back and the seat will end up where its suppose to.

I was going to say that exact same thing.. For the same money you can get a mutt, which is way better in every way. Saw one in person for the first time a few weeks ago (black) and it changed my mind about it - I like it.

Don't know what HD was thinking when they made that rear seat....

The seat is killing the looks of the rocker. Someone could make some money by coming out with a new design.

A HD just isn't in the same league as a BD Chopper. I went on a 100 mile ride yesterday to a local tourist spot in AZ with a friend. There were a lot of Harleys there and we were swarmed with people looking at our bikes. He has a AIH chopper. There were a lot of people taking pictures of my bike and I never saw one taken of a harley and there were probably 75 bikes there.

The funny thing is this spot has a lot of older people in the 55+ age and I think my bike got more attention than normal

I think the rear seat idea is taken from the idea of the rear end of a buell. Just too bad those 2 bikes aren't in the same catagory of style.

Huh? Can't see any similarity, except that the chick on the back would have her butt way up in the air, and hanging on for dear life.

The problem is that the whole rear end is reticulated, so you can't sit on the fender.

I actually like the folding seat idea. Great looks but if you get lucky out comes the seat. If you lengthened that seat and made it a little shorter the bike would look 100% better. That is how the Big Bear bikes are set up. The bike is a cluster fuck right now. Typical harley shit. Now that the market has changed maybe they will pull their head out of there arse.
