Has any one ever ran a harley final drive belt on their dog? Mine shreded and dont want to wait to order one. A 95 Dyna runs a 14mm 133tooth 1 1/8 belt. I have a 2006 Mastiff. Any info would be a great help.

If I can get the size you need, I will get you a price on Gates and Dayco/Panther if you like.

We don't stock it but we get them in 2-3 days and can priority out to you if that helps.

I am trying to be on the road tomorrow so that why I was going to try a harley belt. Other wise I would just order the S&S Gates belt. Thanks though.

If the tooth count is the same and the width it will work fine. I am putting one on my Bulldog as well...

They are the same I was just concerned that harleys are running smaller motors and maybe their belts arent as strong. I got a 4000 miles on mine, I have seen a yamaha that had 70,000 on its stock belt.

not that i know of. I pulling a steep grade at about 120mph and felt a bad vibration and when I stopped half the belt was gone. It melted, had most of it melted to the front pulley cover.

got 20,000 on mine. And some on here have a lot more. If it melted it was probably rubbing some where.

Harley belts are made by Gates. Exactly the same - you'll be fine. If your belt shredded you need to check the alignment - if you just put a new belt on there it will do the same thing.

My transmission went fubar and knocked a bunch of teeth off my belt as it locked up and released. The 6th gear had most of the teeth sheared of as well inside. The transmission is at Baker as I write. I have a used belt with a couple of knicks in it but I am going to put a Harley belt on it. The knicks came from it being somewhat loose and when I nailed it the belt would flex and hit the pulley guard. Seems like they are 160-190 dollars for one. I think it will be just fine myself.
