Yeah, when they're not watching the bikes.:roll:Pffft, I make a Prospect Carry tools.
2nd Dat! Also keeps it out of the voltage reg.:2thumbs:I have mine mounted in that area. Only thing about it is that it catches all the crud that the front tire kicks up. But that is a good thing I guess since it's not getting on the motor!!!

"My bag's been hangin in the same place for 40yrs,no problem with grime or dirt, there has been times of chaffing,"good advice- i'm afraid to check mine now, gonna do that right now!
 :roll:Been there for 5000miles! Two Bike Weeks on Main Street, Biketoberfest Main Street and Leesburge Main Street runs with no issues. Oh I havnt had my recall on the VR done yet eitherI wouldn't hang anything in front of the engine or voltage regulator that, in any way, would reduce/redirect air flow for cooling. Just my two cents!
Apply a layer of electrical tape to the frame first, to stop the chaffing and wear that you'll get from the road grime. Kinda depends on the color of your frame I guess, but tape is easier to replace every so often than the painted finish...

I found orange electrical tape that matched my orange paint job frame pretty close which worked well after I stopped using the tool bag I simply removed it no marks or anything
