Handle bar adjustment?

I'm new to the bigdog world and was wondering if the handle bars on my 2005 pitbull can be adjusted. When I turn to the right the cables running to throttle and front brake are scuffing my gas cap.

If you have the connector piece between the bars you wont be able to adjust them. If you have a pic it would be easier to give you an idea. Is it where it comes out of the bars? Have you tried zip ties to hold them away? You could shim the bars off the tripple a bit with a spacer.

definitely handlebar bushings - try the nylon - stiffer and won't change with time but will not not absorb as much

Thanks for a place to start. I'll try to post a pic later when I get off work. Are these nylon busings the same ones that can be found at the hardware store or are they specifically sized for bigdog?

I had the same issue on my 05 Pitbull, I used a 1" polished spacer and bought new bushings. Very easy to change, use locktight, nothing else needs to be changed. Made a huge difference, no more rub. The spacers were for a Victory, I bought them from Witch Doctor motorcycles, 1" handlebar risers. Bought the bushings off e-bay as a complete kit. All was very in-expensive. Cant even tell, looks like it belongs......Hope this helps.[/

Did you like the height difference?

I have an 2002 Bulldog, and was experiencing the same trouble..In addition to the cables hitting my tank on tight right turns, it was a bit uncomfortable having the bars so low......I was going to put the 1 " spacers in, and it would have cured the problem..But I wanted the bars even a bit higher, so I changed the bars...What a job! Alot of time consuming work...If I had to do over again, Id go witht the spacers,,,,,
