half heat wrapped pipe question

ok guys, i have a set of mb curbfeelers that i have wrapped half way for heat shields and removed the tips. now i have really bad deceleration popping. wondering if anyone else has had a problem with wrapping only half of a pipe? i have tried new jets, check for intake and exhaust leaks. wondering if i wrapped the entire length of pipe it would help or what? THE tips were in bad shape is the reason i removed them. also, i have installed torque cones as directed by my local bdm shop. so, any help would be awesome. thanks

Decel pop sucks. I gave up on my Ghetto Blasters. Guess as a last resort you can try a nut and bolt and a washer. There's a post on here somewhere.
