Out for a blast and she starts shifting REALLY hard and slipping a bit. Fluid was dry. Okay not sure how but I fill it. A bit better then worse again pulled over and fluid on the ground and my tyre. Not sure which came first, didn't notice a leak before. Praise the gods I didn't dump. 75mi tow...
Not sure what kind of damage is present but I'm dreading the money this thing is about to cost me.:( I'm done for sure after this fix. So anyone in the market get ready, it's for real this time. I'm done...:bang:

Might not need main shaft, but sounds like a rebuild for sure. I can fix you up when I get back from Sweden if you would like :2thumbs:

i bought new internals for my blown baker 6 and sent the gears & forks to a dude in Florinda that put a few more shifting dogs degree's and also heat treated and magna fluxed everything. bullet proof tranny here! worth the time and effort. the stock tranny is a fucking joke built to big dog specs....

All the internals of the transmission are already heat treated  The only issue with heat treat was the Main shaft that they used in the DSSC's, built in late 2004-Mid 2006. Used in production bikes from 2005-early 2007. Baker has since fixed this problem. The real issue is the bearings. Baker cuts cost by using a Korean made FAG bearing. Another cause of failure with the transmission is, lack of maintenance, wrong oil type, abuse, and loose nuts(clutch hub, drive pulley)
Don't take this the wrong way, but as far as heat treating, you might have paid for something they truly did not do. Back cutting the dogs is nothing new. In fact, the dogs are already back cut in these.

so what does a guy with little maintenance know how do with these tranny's to keep them solid, and should a guy trust a bike shop to do the required appropriate upkeep? I'm nervous now because every now and then my bike will not shift all the way when going up or down a gear, and it will really slam into the gear i'm shifting to.
