I had a 07 Harley Night Rod Special before I got my 07 Mastiff. If you go to 1130cc.com (V-ROD forum) you will see what seems like a ton of problems with those bikes as well. They have over 15,000 members and every little problem anyone has with the V-Rod is posted. They're awsome machines and I never had any problems with mine. I love my Mastiff and I haven't had any major problems with it and when I do wear it out I'll either rebuild it or buy another one. But, with that said every one of these bikes are going to have a problem at one time or another. Thats the price you pay when you buy a vibrating piece of high performance. One of the many things forums like these are for is sharing info good or bad and solving problems. Example, I wanted to adjust my clutch because it was hard to find neutral. I did a search and found a post on here that was straight to the point and even had great pictures posted for each step of the process. It was easy to do and I learned something new about my bike.
I say buy the Big Dog and start living large!
p.s. If you want to read about problems check out whats going on with the rear cylinder on the Harley 110".
