Love my K-9 and thought the same way you are Jim. I decided to take the plunge after riding a K-9 and I do not regret it at all. :2thumbs: :flag:

I had a 07 Harley Night Rod Special before I got my 07 Mastiff. If you go to 1130cc.com (V-ROD forum) you will see what seems like a ton of problems with those bikes as well. They have over 15,000 members and every little problem anyone has with the V-Rod is posted. They're awsome machines and I never had any problems with mine. I love my Mastiff and I haven't had any major problems with it and when I do wear it out I'll either rebuild it or buy another one. But, with that said every one of these bikes are going to have a problem at one time or another. Thats the price you pay when you buy a vibrating piece of high performance. One of the many things forums like these are for is sharing info good or bad and solving problems. Example, I wanted to adjust my clutch because it was hard to find neutral. I did a search and found a post on here that was straight to the point and even had great pictures posted for each step of the process. It was easy to do and I learned something new about my bike.

I say buy the Big Dog and start living large!

p.s. If you want to read about problems check out whats going on with the rear cylinder on the Harley 110".

As an owner of a 07 Bulldog I must say I have no regrets on the choice of the BDM. It gets so much attention when parked in the crowd, it's just crazy!

3100 miles and nothin but smiles!

Hey Jim, I know MY reasons but I'm curious... why did you decide on a BDM (now that it's official!) instead of a Big Bear Chopper or did you look into them?

Well, first off I have 4 bikes in the garage. Two are my wife's and two mine. Plus daughter in college. Limited funds and so I don't take a bath a guy wanted to swap out bikes. But I love the Big Bear but a lot of negative on the frame issue on the older bikes.

Yeah, the older models frame issue is what did it for me also. Actually, not so much the frame issue as the way Kevin handled it. It sucks though because other then that one major deal they always seemed like such a good company with fewer issues then anybody from everything I was able to read. It's a shame he had to throw away all those years of growth and trust and reputation so he could stay in business and live to try and earn it back later.

Knew a local guy who had an 04 BBC and had the frame crack well before all this became an issue. They had him send the frame back and replaced it. Then a year later it started popping up everywhere with frames. I agree graet scoot otherwise VERY little issues.

I also took to the Swift Chopper. man that frame is intense. Sat on a couple but never rode 'em. Now a guy in NJ selling one at a great price. No trade though.

My BDM dealer I bought my Wolf at was actually a BBC dealer until that all happened and they had a big falling out. That guy who's bike came apart on the freeway lives right here and probably bought his from them originally. I'm glad your friend got a good resolution before they had to start sending out the cheesey little braces.

My bike is mostly stock, I ride in rain (more than most), and have had no major issues (did break a clutch cable out of warranty and BDM picked up the bike from P8RIOTS place and fixed the cable under good will). Got a HD that is NEVER used anymore. It is also reliable, wanna buy it?

I have a 2008 Pitbull and I cannot be happier. Of course there are little issues but that is to be expected on anything that has moving parts. I also race dirtbikes and fourwheelers and those are a constant problem. The BD is awsome. It runs like a cheetah on sterrorids and it looks great. Long story short, if you want to look like every other person on the road go buy a harley. If you want a little personality buy a big dog
