Eric if you had anything to do with the group ride leaving folks behind you can always use one of my classic excuses for fucking everything up.......I was drunk and it was dark.

yeah but we better come up with a better system .. we dont want anyone left out....:spank:.. where was our leader???????? oh thats right we were on our own....1st tme I had ever been on a bdm group ride & I was 2nd in line... the whole ride..even after a # of stops :smash::choppersmiley::nopity::zzsorry:
OK you can use all the damn icons you want to try to be funny or just try to understand the point! BDM owners came from Minnesota, Indiana, Georgia etc. with the high lite of meeting up for the group ride. Most of the riders that were left behind made up damn near half of the group ride from Biketoberfest that BB made the photo of!

As Raywood mentioned this can be organized or we can continue to leave behind fellow BD owners that look forward to riding with other BD owners. This is constructive dialogue for next time, or lets get cute and use more icons.

First off I didn't go......but if I rode 1200 miles to the rally I would like to meet up with some of the board members and do a ride with them. I don't see them (the ones left behind) as complaining, they would like to see it better organized next time. Nothing wrong with that...something to build on for other rallies that members go to. If I go to a rally and miss the group ride its not going to ruin the rally for me. But a group ride would make the rally that much better. Plus I just like to ride. The last couple of years I've been to BBQ in Fayetteville Ar and always wanted to do a group ride with some of the members. We never got everyone together to pull it off. Someone who is familiar with the area has to be the leader and organize it. Set a place and time to meet....we never leave on time so I can understand people getting left behind. But if someone is puttting the ride together the others know who to look for. The bigger the group the harder it is to keep everyone together.....but it is possible to do. Rode over 1100 miles with this group. Never lost anyone :D

Just thought I would throw this out there. Maybe something to work on for other rallies. :2thumbs:

Being on the outside looking in, I can see both groups point of views. There's really no one at fault here. There is no designated schedule and route and no one taking the reigns as group leader. Had I traveled as far as some of you had, i would certainly want to be in on the group ride, but shit happens. When you get bikers, beer and women mixed in with an activity, don't expect everything to go as planned. :job: There's always the next time. Sounds like everyone had fun. :whoop: And with "Dogs", the strength is in the pack, so more is always better.

Well, I am still sorry that I missed the group ride.
I have ridden with BB, Eric, Superfly, Kurt, and others and there is no "clic." Not one of these guys would intentionally blow off other riders.
Apparently, the group ride cannot function without my leadership, as displayed on the successful BTF ride, and supplemented by Superfly, my assitant program director (and transporter of hot chicks)
I accept full responsibility for the lack of organization caused by my absence......I hereby forfeit my salary as program director for the next 6 months.
BTW, I have attended other Big Dog Biker group rides where there were several "no shows." I guess I should have gotten on the forum and bitched about that.

...No, It's because I wasn't there!!!! Actually the group rides are all dependant on wether or not Superfly's honey will be attending or not... Usually if she doesn't show, the ride is cancelled!!!!!:roll::roll: ...At least that is why Skid no shows!!!

I had to bring it up!!! Sorry!:2thumbs:

As an "Old School/Timer" rider, there is one rule, you never leave a fellow rider behind or on the side of the road. larger the group the more difficult this becomes. I have been on rides where "butt heads" rode off leaving others behind and it is the last time for me. (Please know I'm NOT calling anyone here a butt head....past experience only)

Typically I hook-up with a smaller group with similar riding styles, but no matter what your riding style, slow or slower, broken down or need a rest, lost a beanie, or left a cell phone at the last stop.......You can count on me to stay together.

As a suggestion....the next group ride might consider better organization.....break off into sub-groups with a plan to gather at designated stop points along the way and make sure all are accounted for at each stop.

if others think I was out front your wrong.. I had no idea where we were going...... I was just 2nd in line & along for the ride..... lets just put it this way... it was announced that wew were leaving,, we all waited to get more members,, then we (the group) pulled over to allow eveyone to get in line as some bikers not on the ride got in line... just random peps.. after that we started out.. if the droped camera hadnt happened we would have not stoped in the rode... out of respect of the persons property.... as far a members making a comment about what happened if you werent there you dont really know what happened... while we were waiting for the camers to be found someone droped a bike.. dont know what happened.. (sorry for who ever it was as I couldnt see being up front.. hope it didnt fuck up nuttin... but up front we got word everyone was ok & ready so we proceeded on) now if you got left out ... the group did all we could... you have to take responsibility for your self.... its not everyone elses problem... if you didnt stay with the group..... I did see on the loop that your snapshot.com had 11 bikes I think.. all together... that is what we left with & that is what we arrived with @ the stops...

Ok just let me see if I got this right. You saw this old fucker with six bolts, two rods in his back walk (hobble) over to his bike with 7 or 8 other people. Takes me about 5 minutes to get my shit together, MP-3 player going, wrap up my face, get my helmet on, gloves on ETC. Climb my cripple azz onto my bike and wait till everyone else pulls out so I can be the anchor. And no one thought to say hey where we going?
Oh I’m the one in the middle on the bench!

I never heard so many guys get there panties in a bunch over shit in my life lol. All I said was next time let everyone know whats going on plain and simple. Im not crying complaining or trying to start shit just letting people know for next time thats all. If you guys did let us all know then we would have been in the mix. Like i said pretty easy to spot us we were all standing together off to the side buy the street. Sturgis should have a spot to meet where there are not that many outsiders around so we can all get on the same page. I made some good friends on here and want to keep it that way not trying to call anyone out but that wipping tears away shit dont fly with me. Not crying making a point. I think everyone should have a beer and a smile and relax a little lol

Sorry to hear about the misunderstanding and not having a good group ride for all. Fortunately have not had a similar issue on the numerous group rides I have done with BD Members.

Do suggest some basic lay out of the tentative plans with a basic idea of what the f is going on. It also helps if people pass around cell phone numbers in case something happens or the group gets broken up.

One thing I will pass, is that from my experience, everyone should be somewhat flexiable with the leave times, routes, etc.

It also does help if someone is designated as the leader (normally the organizer or the one that knows the route best) and have a couple of blockers that know what the hell they are doing so that the group tends to stay together better. Fortunately I have been blessed with both on ours.

Suggest that folks not get upset and learn from any mistakes or errors and make the next one much better and less confusing. It can be done with the great people that tend to hang on here, for many of us have had group rides and many times it involved having member meet up in little groups since they were coming from so many area and then the groups all meeting together as one for the main rides, with contacts numbers between members of each group in case there is delays, break-downs or other issues that may require some adjustments.

Probably the most insightful comment I’ve read in this thread so far, and stated in a mature, adult fashion.
When situations like this happen, it needs to be discussed so that everyone can work to eliminate it from happening again in the future. No need to get upset or become overly defensive. Just suck it up and keep it in mind for the next time. If the shoe had been on the other foot, I guarantee something would have been said as well. (as it should be...)
We all learn from our mistakes, either as individuals or as a group. I can bet you that this will never happen again because it was discussed here on this forum.
Very well spoken post Fiber !!!

(God, I’m so glad I’m a loner.........)
