We drilled a hole through the bottom of the pan that accesses a set screw which holds it in place.

It all makes sense and I'm still in love with the seat and Idea!
Those were my thoughts too.... that´s why I did mention the handle-bar mod... so to achieve a more "relaxed" riding position.

The backrest moves up and down! The screw has a ball on it to stop at which ever height you want it at. After making the first backrest. I know now how to bend the backrest to fit Your back with minimal damage!!! You simply slide the backrest out and in when using or not using! As for how it rides. With the extra padding my A** is loving it. With 2 fused vertebrae in my lower back, my back is also loving it. Although with the extra padding you do sit a little higher. That is beneficial for me because I have long legs!
