Wow guys, thanks for the mad props!!!!!!
Lars, I'd be happy to do your paint job. Say thanks to the wife and kid for me!
Knotso, I probably SHOULD have done the background first! I guess I just wanted to jump into the fun stuff!
Rocky, I'll keep posting as long as you guys let me. Glad you enjoy them.
Grif, that's great, give me a shout when you're ready. Just remember - buy a solid color.
2004BC, I will not apologize for doing my best! You'll just have to deal with it and send me your stuff!
Thanks guys.

I just forked over almost $100 for new airbrush parts. SUCKS! I guess airbrushes don't like being dropped on the concrete - who knew?
Back to work, later!

At the time, would BDM have let you do a paint scheme like this?

Do they do jobs like this today? Like if a buyer wanted this kind of detail?

NOT trying to take work from you.

Knotso, would they let me do a paint job like this? No, not black and grey. Unless requested by the client. Another artist once did a beautiful "vintage" looking pin-up in black and greys. The sales team rejected it, and made him re-do it in color, destroying the look.
Do they do jobs like this today? No. They currently have no one capable of work like this. They fired or laid off the few guys that could come close. Even when things were going good, I was the only one doing work like this.
If a buyer WANTED that kind of detail? He's SOL. Refer to above.
These are NOT my jilted opinions, it's the pure and simple facts. If you want crazy artwork from the factory, you're gonna be dissapointed.
The talent simply isn't there anymore. Fact. It's sad really. They build really beautiful bikes.

Ed, the tank is awesome!:whoop: So what are you planning for the fenders? I wonder why the BDM team always insisted on color...the black & white photo theme is very popular, and your tank exemplifies this. Oh well...their loss! Now we know where to go for the really custom stuff! Good job!!!

Thanks guys, I'll be starting on the rear fender soon. I've got to fix a few things on it before I start the artwork.

The way the lighting hits the tank makes me wonder if the gas cap will be used as a full moon? This is a long thread so forgive me if I missed it.
