Great Ride Yesterday in Tennessee

Several of us and some in my fan club (grand daughters in the mini van, wife riding behind my son in law on a Harley) took off about 6:00 in the morning from here and rode to Dunlap Tennessee to a Coffee and Donut Shop that some friends run in town. The interstate ride was an interstate ride but the weather was cloudy and felt great. We got off the interstate and rode down highway 111 about 60 miles to Dunlap was the best part of the ride. Not a lot of traffic and the scenery was like the weather great as well.It was a little over a two hour trip and it really felt good early before everything warmed up. I filled up my scooter three times getting home and everyone had a great day.

Just a thought to everyone though! I know even everyones feels like there is safety in numbers and people see you better, to a certain point that is true.

Yesterday we came back through Smithville and were all riding together doing the "Speed limit" through town. Myself and my buddy on the trike always ride in the rear when a guy in a jeep cherokee in a hurry gets in between us and runs up on me let's say too close. I let off the throttle a bit and put a little distance between myself and the others. When he could get by the slower traffic which was to our right he took off. Then only around 300 yards up the road he cut over through the pack of motorcycles to turn left. The two he cut in front of were watching him and slowed down as he cut in between them and immediatly went to the turning lane. I thought when they went by him and almost stopped that he was fixing to get a rapp on his door, I promise you he got a mouth full with the universal finger jesture from two very pizzed off club riders he cut in front of to turn even farther.

I normally ride alone through the back roads and put a little extra effort to watch for idiots like that everywhere, they are out there. All our group yesterday were seasoned riders and we all watch out for the rest of the group all the time.

Morral of this story folks "Ride Safe all the time! By yourself and in a group of other riders"!

Have a Great Weekend Everyone!

Glad the weather worked out for you and nobody got hurt with the idiot. Rained almost the entire day here in east Tn., so I did the usual of helping friends with home improvement.

Glad you guys made it thru ok and had an overall good day; come on down to Huntsville, AL (and rural parts south). Can't say I've run into too many knuckleheads, like the one you describe, down here, but I guess you never know. There are several scenic routes with good rest stops and some of the best BBQ I've had!
