Got my 2007 k9 now what

Just received my 2007 K9. Once I put a charge on the battery, it fired right up in the 45 degree weather. That impressed me as my neighbors 2005 or 2006 Ridgeback is very hard to start in the cold.

On that note, what can I do to make this machine as bullet proof as possible? It has around 3000 miles on it and the Speed-O has already been replaced with the Dakota(?). It currently has the EHC with the 18 lights and I know the EHC seems to be a weak component of the Big Dogs.

Would anyone recommend proactively replacing the EHC with the WirePlus or new PDM?
Also, where can I get a service manual so that I can do some work myself? I am no mechanic but I am fairly mechanical.

Any thing else I need to be aware of?

Picture attached but very small due to the 19.8KB size restrictions

It is already on a tender. The battery was low when it was unloaded from the truck today. Funny thing, when trying to start it when the battery was low it would crank for half a second then the horn would honk.

First off get it on a tender!!!!!!:2thumbs:

That's a low battery, make sure the batt is good that's the biggest EHC issue!!!:2thumbs:

BBChopper, I noticed the "Ferrum Vir" under your name, is that for Ferrum Virginia? I went to Ferrum College.

Latin for "Iron Man"...... For my back, guess it's time to change it. Only one small piece of titanium left in there.

Nice scooter there. Try and stay away from washing the bike with water hose, I only use spray detailer's and micro-fiber towels.

If it were my new purchase.. I would first and for most, Spend time going over the bike.. Nuts and bolts with some loctite, Check and or Chance fluids, Tire pressure.. And if you get bored Di-electric grease some connectors.. 2 birds with 1 stone.. Peace of mind and helping the machine!

with it being an '07, even with only 3k miles, go over the tires and check for cracks in the tread grooves (sign of dry rot) and take a look at the (4) number code on the side wall. first (2) numbers are the week of the year and the last (2) are the year manufactured. mine is an '07 and i know they should be replaced but haven't yet. not good to be over 6 years old.
