Got her home but!

Energy One
Finally got her home, she is still popping an cutting out a little. Seems like the battery isn't staying charged after it been rode. After I got her home she wouldn't start. Not enough juice to turn her over. Brand new battery just bought it.

Step 1.
Get the battery charged, start the bike then see if you are get 14.4-14.6 bolts while running to make sure your Charging up.

Step 2
Get a bracket for that Spike intake. You should have a bracket to help support that item. Not to mention it will look better to not have the holes in the heads

Step 3.
Those are sweet reflectors...hint..hint...

Haha..

Nice bike though! Have fun

Not sure on a lot of this stuff. New to the big dog world,Ik its had two batteries on it in the past couple years. This I just bought, after I start it a couple times it will just click like the solenoid is going out. After I let it set a few it starts up. But once again I rode it home, turned it off tried to start it, just clicked like it didn't have enough juice, put the trickle charger on showed the battery was low, charged it for a few hit the switch fired right up. I will check on those things thanks for the input on it. The bracket is broken, sucks, the carb has an ear missing on it, I guess it broke when the bracket got broke, really not looking forward to buying a carb for it, it will have to wait a few, the reflectors haha well I just haven't had time to take them off been to busy trying to just get it started lol

Well it's already broken haha..That's why I advised on getting the bracket. Hopefully another ear doesn't break before you get the bracket.

Most likely the ear on the carb broke from not having the bracket it in the first place.

Nice Bike, you might be able to pick up an S&S shorty "G" carb on e-bay for about 100 bucks just look around. The rebuild kit is not that expensive and you can use the same jets you have on it now or bring them up from the stock 2.9/72 to at least a 31/73 or even a 32/76. If you don't replace the carb you are going to have to replace the intake gaskets shortly which may be why it is popping and cutting out. :old2:

I think it broke when she fell over, the bracket an the ear. Got a few things to get straight on her. My uncle got in which bad shape he just couldn't take care of her, but didn't want to let her go either, she just needs a little tlc

is the large lug on first and then the small lugs on the terminal or the other way around? should be big first. and if you don't have them, get some star washers and put them on to help keep the nuts tight.

Check the plug on the front of the engine, make sure it's not loose. Next check the circuit breaker on the side of the battery box. there is a little reset button on the side of it. Actually remove the circuit breaker and replace it with a 40 amp fuse.
Also go to your information, under where it says "my bikes," and replace the "u" with an "I".

There is a wire that runs under the frame from the VR to the pos battery terminal. Sometimes this wire gets cut and has only a few strands left. Check it out. that may be your problem...
