Got a problem

[Ride the lightning]

When I tried to start my bike, I hit the ignition and it started to crank, I released the start button and it continued to crank, I even took the key out and it was still crankin. For about a half hour afterward after the battery died, the starter was too hot to even touch. Any ideas? Help?

Unhook the small wire going to the starter solenoid and see if it still tries to crank when you hook up the battery. If so, starter needs attention, If not ehc, start switch, or wiring needs attention....

Just curious, have you washed it or ridin through a good rain lately? These dogs have been known to start on their own due to moisture in the hand controls/EHC. It wouldn't hurt to go ahead and put some dielectric grease in your EHC while checking it.

Like the above said. Pull the green wire. If the solenoid is stuck it will try to crank as soon as you touch the big red cable to the battery. If it's fine with the wire pulled, that green wire is live when it shouldn't be.

If this happens again I would STONGLY recommend you pull the seat and disconnect the battery. Cranking like that could damage the starter and battery or worse, start a fire.

I believe this was an issue on some years. If you do a search you should be able to find more info on it.

Sounds like a stuck solenoid, do a quick search on it, lots of info here on that. Fairly easy fix, but might have fried the battery. Mine wouldn't take a charge after my solenoid stuck. Just a helpless feeling when it keeps cranking when you pull the key, you just sit there and think WTF!!

Keeped on cranking for 30 minutes... Damn , what kind of battery do you have! I want one for sure.
