I've actually been using the picture mode lately more then the video mode. I usually set the camera to snap a pic every two seconds, then go back and delete the ones I don't want.

Here are some examples of the pic mode, I know, I know there not dog pics but they are pics with my "Winter Dog". ha ha

First few pics are from one of the trips to Montana this year.

These pics are from a mount on the front bumper, the mounting options are endless if your creative.

These next pics were from my Alaska trip in March, which was a great time!! For the most part the pics turn out pretty good but I may try a polarized filter for more winter shooting.

You can see how steep some of these climbs were, note the skis in the air!

I’ve been looking at Vegas Pro 11 as people recommend but it’s like $600.00
(Fibersnake must be rich)
No not rich, but I also use it for more in depth stuff other than the POV cameras. That said, also have had Vegas for a few years, so it as been upgrades from back to version 8 and thus not such high cost at once, and since I shoot video at time on my consulting jobs, also have part claimed on deductions. My biggest use for the Vegas Pro is when using a couple of Canon XF3oo series and getting timecoding and other stuff involved.

For a cheaper and pretty good editing program the Vega Movie Stuido HD is nice also, but as previously mentioned there are many others, just depends on what your requirments are.

Also as Toodie said, at full hd these can be a resource hog, and these are nothing compared to some of the higher level HD cameras (example my XF300 average about 350-400 mb per min) or somewhere around 70-80 min per 32 gb card. My Go Pro HD gets about 4 hours out fo a 32gb card or around 130 per min. (difference is due to the codec types BTW.

So if you plan to get the best quality shooting and edit it to highest quality, you will spend lots of time drinking while it renders, displays, etc. Most of the stuff we typical shoot with these are for nice little clips to post on Facebook, Youtube etc, so not too bad.

Abaccon yes I use the waterproof back, my main issue with the Go Pro, which I think is an excellent camera is recently (I guess the newest HD Hero2 made a change) was not being able to use an external mic. I have found on other with and external mic, I can place such in certain position (like I like to run a small pizzo one down my back under the jacket, and get better engine sounds.

It looks like the Hero2 may have helped on that problem, let me know, but for now I bought a Contour HD Pro plus back around christmas and waiting to get home to try that out.

Looking forward to seeing many cool videos soon and hopefully when I get out this shit hole, I can get back to getting some video myself.

Here's a clip one of my mates made of a recent trip. The quality had to be reduced to add to youtube, but the steadyness of the mount was great. Watching in HD on his Laptop was very suprising, very high quality. He uses his mainly for skydiving. I have one on my xmas list.

Has anyone tried the Contour plus?
I bought one at Christams but have not had a chance to use it yet. Someone else on the site did have one and said they like it very good and prefered it over the Go Pro. Let me know if you get one and how you like it, Come June I will let you know for me after I get a chance to try it out.

I have found out that the police dash cams are actually pretty good quality they were able to see me not stop at the light, not signal when turning left and also spotted me in a cluster of cars pulling out of the bar? Hell and I didn't even pay shit Or have to wear a camara to get recorded.....
