Good tip on finding neutral

I should imagine every one will be slightly different - no two will be identical especially once they start to wear

you also need to be careful not to go too far or the clutch will start slipping

When coming back to camp from the last day's run in Fayetteville last weekend, my clutch quit holding. Pull it in and NOTHING happened. I had about 30 miles of running her back into town, back thru city rally traffic for about 8 miles by trying to hit neutral, revving it up at the lights and slamming it into 2nd to take off. NICE. I had all these people staring at me like I was some crazy stupid girl on a bike too big for her. Only one guy pulled up beside me and said...your clutch is out isn't? Felt like and azz, but made it home and taking the bike to the shop for them to do the warranty work on it. Needless to say, T was not happy about that situation! I just love having such an awesome bike that seems to have problems FAR more than I'd like. Oh well...won't give her up cause I love it toooooo much!

sorry to hear that T - any idea what went wrong with it? cable? I have to say I've eliminated most of the known to be problematic stuff on my bike now.

by the way I love your avatar - very classy looking :2thumbs:

Hi Lee! I'm not real sure what's up yet. It acted more like that nut inside is backing off. Didn't real seem like a clutch cable, but then again..I really don't know. Taking in to my mechanic (as I don't work on my own stuff yet) on Wednesday. I'll let you all know what they say. It just irritates me cause every 4 months or 2500 miles I'm having to have it readjusted as it walks on me all the time. Wearing me out!

Thanks for the avatar comment. I have a friend that is a photographer that rides with us. Funny story about that pic. We were riding back from Red River NM rally in May and had to pull into that old abandoned gas station to take cover from a tornado a few miles away. I was sitting there on my bike and she started shooting shots. That's one of them! She also did my calendar shots and I think they turned out pretty good too. Hopefully Bubblehead can do something with those.
