I took the K-9 out yesterday for a ride sponsored by a dealership and local radio station... I'm now a member of the Fakawii Tribe.

It was a real cool ride, cruisers and sport bikes totaling about 60. Hit some nice curvy roads for a few hours. I was a bit worried because I haven't ridden in a group or hit some twisties on the Dog. The Dog did well but I did have to take a few turns much slower then I would on the Harley.

I hooked up with about 6 other cruisers and we split off at a gas stop and went our own way... i.e. rode to a bar for some refreshments.

The end of the ride was back at the dealership where 3 Hooters chicks did a bike wash. Cute girls but real young. I watched them "wash" a few bikes and decided they were not touching the dog. I should have remembered my camera. :bang:

All in all, it was a great day. I hung out and bullshitted for a while and left about 2:30pm when it was just too hot for me. I had to ride another 50 miles to get home.

The Dog is sitting at 450+ miles, it rolled out of the garage at 200 that morning. Now she will sit until I can schedule the 500 mile service, hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday.

It was nice to hit a event and have THE hottest bike there. :2thumbs:

Don't sit waiting to have the 500 mile service done - I blew past mine so fast, I had 1000 miles on it before I could get it back to the dealer - got two checks for one, so to speak.

If it's running stong with no problems, just keep on riding. You really should change the oil though, and check in with your dealer to confirm they will support you.

Sounds like a good time Bubblehead though it is hard to forgive for not having the cam had hand for the Hooters ladies.

Would highly recommend that you get the 500 done as soon as possible. It is one of the most critical and will sit the level for the rest. Also as others have said, now is the time to see how the stealers treats you. Hopefully you can get a quick schedule time and very short around.

I know I had my first done in a couple of hours and hung at the local dinner while they did. Once they are done, double check everything (i. e. oil, battery connections, etc.) IF anything is showing bad, take the SOB right back and tell them to get it right.

Now on the mileage, you need to get out there and ride that thing more. Hell 500 miles can be done in a day but no more than a week. Get out there and get your share of the smiles and miles. DO NOT forget the camera next time.

Let us know how you make out on your service.

Have fun riding and be safe.

I think the lack of the camera and pics is a bannable offense. You should ban yourself for 1 week from the forum as punishment!:spank:

Seriously, I don't think I would let any Hooters chicks wash my dog either... did one time on the rocket... will post those pics for you guys when I'm not at work and can access my PB account.

I think you were trying to say this.
:worthless:

The other option is to beg :bang: for forgiveness.

Tim, Glad to hear you are enjoying your new ride!

I'm calling two dealers in the morning to see who can get me in first and who is cheaper. I hope to have it serviced tomorrow and rack up some more miles.

Fibersnake, I would have a lot more miles on it if I was home more. I wanted to ride to AZ this weekend to my brothers, but I didn't get out of the house much once I got home... had some catching up with my girl to do. :D

I'll be keeping my camera handy from now on.

Bubblehead,

Understand, spending time with the family is the most important thing. I am sure you will get those miles in before you know it.

Safe riding

It showed up around 8:30pm on Thursday. My girl is a flight attendant and had a flight 5:30am the next day/morning.
