I have a Avon Vermon 250 / 40R 18 looking at threads on here. Does anyone know how much smaller and is this a good tire.

I've run them on 2 or 3 bikes without issue .
Although none were 300's.

I guess running 3 bikes it's hard for me too keep up with milage .. I've yet to replace any of them .. The bike I traditionally put the most on 02 Electraglide tends to go thru rear tires. I chalk that up to its so easy on that bike to skid the rear tire for me . Eighter braking or downshifting it'll light up with a little miss judgement . And that was true also with michliens.

I don't know a lot about Shinko tires, other than most Jap bike riders (street racers) use them, because of their superior traction. :old2: .

That superior traction = a lot of rubber on the road. Back when I was down in FL the crotch rocket crew was getting around 4K but that is a different ball game. The old HD tires lasted damn near forever but also had a drawback , the compound was so hard they could not grip the road and the old will it stop or slide question was always on your mind.

Well the tire came today. Date code 3922. I was hoping for a newer one from J&P Cycles
J&P doesn't sell alot of tire even tho you would think they would...I have heard of this issue with them from more than one person...Chaparral usely has tire with a 6 month date code...they move alot more tires faster...actually I think they buy tires from Chaparral now that I think about it

8 second quarter mile times, on my turbo. I used a Goodyear rain tire, to get those times. Shinko wasn't around at the time. I'm 100 % positive the Shinko would have been equal.
