I have a PIIA in Mine. They are very bright and look kinda purplish on low beam. Its worth the money. You can get a cheaper one at Autozone. Silverstar I believe. They are $20-25 bucks. Its worth it for a few extra bucks.

Whatever you buy, MAKE SURE the wattage rating 60/55 is no higher than the stock bulb. The EHC won't like the change and the harness wiring won't handle it as well.

You might also want to replace the plastic H4 connector with a ceramic high temp version found on the web.

Would this be a good one for the Dog? I am unsure about the rear end... any mods needed?

I cut my old one off and soldered the new one on and used heatshrink tubing at the solder connections. I did it this way due to the original H4 connector was already melted and unreliable. I guess you could plug it in using the original H4 connector but every time you add a connection you introduce additional resistance and problems.

Don't discard the coil of wire (Black wire?) inside the headlight bucket. I think it's there to protect the EHC module.

Personally I would cut and replace. That's just the way I do things.

Yup, I hear you Bro1. I think I'll go the soldiering and heat-shrinking too. It seems safer and more stable to me. :2thumbs:

Knuckles, I try not to ride too much in the dark but sometimes I have too.. main thing is the Cops issue you with a 150 Euros "prescription" each time they catch you without lights!!! Not nice! :D

Ouch $72 for a bulb. Let us know how the visibility is and if you think it was worth it.
Thanks.
$72 is for two light bulbs. it's about 36 bucks each.

I've been using them for awhile now and I am pretty happy with it. It's been three months now and I am still using the first one !!! (before this anti-vibration one I was chewing an average of two light bulbs a month!)

And very bright too! Definitely worth it, I highly recommend these bulbs. :2thumbs:

I had it on my big dog and now switched the bulb to my Ironhorse. I love it. I bought the two pack special cause it was cheaper. I figured it shuld out last the standard type since its anti vibe. Since these bikes shake more than a strippers butt on a friday night.

got the new headlight bulb and harness today. installed them after it got dark, pointed the bike out the garage first an seen how the old bulb shown, then installed the new one. and just shining out my garage, down the driveway an at the neighbors house maybe 100 ft away, it didnt seem to me like a significant difference, i can tell there is a difference, but not $72 for 2 bulbs and $5 for a plug worth of a difference. will see when i get it on the road sometime, maybe it will be better then.

If you have street lights by you it wont be as bright. Did you clean your head lamp while you had it out? They get dirty inside. That would stop some of the light from coming out if the lens is dirty. I just used hot water with a lil dish soap. Let it soak in there. Rinse and wipe it dry and use a hair dryer to get the rest of the moisture. Obviously, take out the bulb before you do that.
