My 07 K9 is a ticker too, not excessive....you just can hear the valve action. Do you have another bike person (mechanic) you could get to check it out with you, before committing? If you don't feel good about the deal, find another. :2thumbs:
Or like Ray said it can be adjusted. If the bike has low miles, like you say, there is not much expense in adjusting the valves. Good luck let us know what you do...

im sure its fine! he said he had it looked at last year and they told its normal. if its bad then its time for cam etc :roll:
