The 30th of this month will be the closing on the sale of my business. Since the majority of the share holders elected to sell I have no choice but to agree. The new owner wants to build up 6 months of inventory then over Thanksgiving weekend move the plant to NC. He asked me to relocate to the South Port / Wilmington area and keep it going. Any pros or cons on living in NC, things to watch out for, or any insider information in general? The best news is now I will be able to ride more than 7 months of the year. :whoop:

Funny, I'm in NC right now. Nice weather here, but don't know squat about living here. Anything beats NJ though.....

Been here 14 years now in the Charlotte and now Raleigh area and I love it!!! You can ride to the beach or to the mountains or just cruise the many curvy country roads here in NC. We still get 4 seasons but not that drastic of change throughout the year. You can in fact ride all year round cause if we do get snow it dosent last long!

If you have anymore questions feel free to PM me anything you wanna know!

I have lived here in NC all my life in various parts of the state. Let's see...you're from Jersey? No-you definitely will not like it here and I encourage you not to move to NC. Generally speaking-the people are much nicer and more laid back than you are accustomed to-and at time transplants just cannot accept the changes. In fact-if you do come down to check it out we have a few from Jersey we would like to help you load up and take back with you.:) JUST KIDDING! Seriously...depending on your company-you MAY want to consider something in the Mebane/Burlington area. Smack dab in the middle of the state (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill/Greensboro), slightly cheaper to live in that area than larger cities, close to 2 airports (RDU and Greensboro), I-40 and I-85 intersect nearby-and just over an hour from I-95 via I-40 or I-85. About 2.5 hours from beach or mountains. Come on down! Shoot me a PM if you have questions and I will try to help you. Good luck on the decision.

I've been working in Southport, NC for the past 3 years. I'm having a great time living close to the beach and Myrtle Beach is only an hour away. Just remember, we're laid back down here and not in a big hurry and you will fit in fine.:D

Depends on what kind of lifestyle your seeking, work and live in Wilmington (traffic) or live outside Wilmington in the country and commute to Wilmington. I prefer the country lifestyle and a short drive to where I work and bigger cities.:choppersmiley:

You should love North Carolina. Like Craig said if you're anywhere near the middle, go one way to the beach & the other way to the mountains. Hell thats where I should be.

Yeah, me too! thats where I should be. Where I'm at right now - if I go one way its flat and I hit water...go the other way its flat and I hit water. I have to ride parking garages to get the sensation of curvy mountain riding.

Good Luck !!

You'll love it. I was born and raised here and can't complain one bit. I live in Graham which it in the middle of the state, but shit for you from Wilmington area you can be anywhere you want in about 4 hours max. And that's going to the mountains!!

Thanks everyone of your information. Since the new owner lives in South Port I am sure the plant will be with in the area and I will be forced to stay sort of near by. I think I will really miss the pot holes, horns, weather, ass holes and a few other things. I can not wait to get down there later this year and do some riding.

Relocating from Pittsburgh to the Raleigh area soon. Have been spending some time there and so far its a great place. Good schools, nice weather, people are great and so nice. Think you can ride at least 8-9 months a ayear down there.
