Well before the stimulus hit this state, our roads and bridges were unbearable. I would ride miles out of my way for a smooth stretch of road. Not any more, I'm working on a solo seat with dual chopper shox.
The seat was made by Anvil Customs in Missouri.
The shocks are by Chopper Shox in Las Vegas.
The front and rear mounts are being made by FabKevin in Michigan.

Gotta love the Pin-up!!

Thanks guys, I just got the seat today so it may take another month before everything is all mounted and chromed/powdercoated (just the front and rear mounts).

I can't believe BigDog hasn't made this an option after seeing how good everyone's had turned out!!!! Bike looks GOOD!!!

Looks like your using the weld on mounts? Fabkevin also makes some bolt on mounts as well. These pics are for spring perches but I think they are available for shock or air bag mounts as well.

I agree, as I also live in IL (just a little north of you) and the main roads out here into WI are Hwy 47 or 31...both were nightmares! Now, Hwy 31 has been resurfaced north of McHenry to the state line. (haven't ridden on 47 lately, so I can't speak for that one)

ps - nice bike..like your new seat a lot!!

Thanks again,
alhall88- I haven't seen a setup like that for the shocks. Fabkevin is making me a bolt-on mount that will sit on the cross tube and have the tabs welded to it.

It looks like I'll be powdercoating the mounts to match the paint, the stainless warps too easy when it's welded.

I'll also be making some kind of leather cover for the battery and wiring harness.

Hey alhall88, thanks for the input! I talked to Kevin today to make a shock setup like the spring bungs and Kevin say's it's very do-able. I'll have a clean billet aluminum mount on the top of the cross bar for the Chopper Shox and a steal bung on the bottom of the cross bar to bolt everything up. Nice and clean.

Anvil Seat, Chopper Shox, FabKevin mounts = all for well under $1,000
Anyone else thinking of doing this to their rigid? I can still unbolt everything and still use my 2up seat when needed. PRICELESS

tomtang - The setup is soooo cool! I haven't been able to get in the garage to work on the bike (COLD), but the mounts I got made at home are great! I do know he has another set laying around, Kevin said he was going to make 2 just in case. Also my mounts bolt on from the top, it's a much easier install.
