have a buddy I have known for years, he has always admired Dahlia and wanted one himself, finally got an 04 chopper, sweet ride. But I went with him to get it, dude had just ridden it, bike was hot to touch, but didn’t have the power to turn it over and the battery was new. Long story short, he joined the forum to see what he could find, figured it out after purchasing the bike and it breaking down on he way home... kept it for a few weeks and now it’s gone... these bikes are definitely for those with heart.. so I made him a video while it was down cuz I like to salt wounds...

Breaking down of the way home is tough. That would make you rethink your purchase, I'm sure your video is going to sting a little. On the other hand he does have some cash!

Um, I have been broken down on the side of the road. Not fun but it's part of owning a moto. Shit happens. It's how you deal with it. I will tell you this - Roadside Insurance - worth it. But I also carry tools to do minor stuff. I still need to add a few things but there is only so much you can carry.

God knows ive had my far share of breaking down on the side of the road...once i sheared all the 5/16ths bolts in my clutch basket...blew a rear tire with less than 400 miles on it at 85mph....and years ago before electrical upgrades it was none stop on the side of the rode...and always does the shit 100 plus miles from home....but im a big dog rider for life and i will fix them or go crazy trying lol

I've had my fair share of motorcycle breakdowns on the side of the road, but I always got home. Before the Ultra I traveled quite a bit on the dog and it only left me on the side of the road once.

Yes!! Geico has done me well for motorcycle insurance... man I broke down a while back, coil went out and they sent me this awesome tow truck where it had a lift come out of the back of this box truck and pull it inside... very securing for a bike that’s almost 10 ft long!!

I tried to talk him to talk the guy down and the guy wasn’t budging, but I seen the bike on Craigslist numerous times for about a year... so he was just not too eager to sell... bike was filthy and needed tax for sure!! Wheels literally looked gray and so did everything else aluminum or chrome..

Haha my bike broke down on the way home from Austin when I bought it, I had to get towed with a rope from a random guy at a gas station to get it started. Had bought it from Dream Machines in Austin and rode it the 300 miles back North first ride with problems, that was back in 2011!

Dream machines in Dallas replaced the starter when I brought it there since I couldn't get bring it back to Austin, they treated me right. Bike only had less than 4k miles on it when I bought it, looking back I don't think it was the starter I think it was just the start of the issue I had with the recall never being performed on the 04 EHC and it was just starting to loosen up. After I got the starter fixed it was good for a few months then had issues again, in goes the Wires Plus 6 months after I bought it and spent every penny I didnt have since I was only about 26 at the time. However when I decided to buy it, I made the commitment to myself to learn and do all my own work on the bike cause I knew I couldn't afford anyone to work on it.

That's why I don't recommend BD to everyone...its a commitment.

I have so many different break downs between the BMC (first bike) and the 2 K-9, I could write a book.
I also am the only person I now to have broken 2 bikes inside of 5 miles on a road trip!

For me, the magic word is AAA plus RV or AAA Premium RV (200 mile towing)

Worth every penny.

It just like my AE, is don't leave home without it.

I had a bike breakdown which was brand new zero miles from the factory. Any bike can breakdown until you take it out for a shakedown cruise so you can repair any issues. Turns out, it was a battery issue but it doesn’t matter. You have to take a bike, ride it, correct any issues discovered, and then you have a reliable ride.
