Ever since I had the cam, springs, exhaust, ignition, carb, etc. installed I thought something just wasn’t right with the performance. The bike seems to buck between 2000 and 2500 RPM and the top end just plain sucks. The NOS was installed afterwards and I only used it a few times before deciding I better get the motor right first. This past Friday I dropped my bike off at Reeds Racing, a local shop in Crestline Ohio. This guy has a great reputation and was actually recommended by Bobby Woods, the cam designer. He put the bike on the dyno and turned out a completely embarrassing shitty 86hp and 112 ftlbs. The motor was running so rich that it actually cut out before it hit the rev limiter. It backfired so much it reminded me of a Baghdad fire fight. He is going to tear it apart and flow the heads, add some compression and get things the way they should be. I figure 125hp is a good number to shoot for. He had an S&S 120” pull 150hp, that motor is the same bore, just a slightly longer stroke then ours. I bet I’ll get around 155hp with the juice with the small jets. So, three weeks without the bike during prime riding season… but it will be worth it.

Jesse be sure to pull up next to a fire hydrant once in a while and purge, like a DOG marking its teritory.

I admire any hot rodding endevours. :2thumbs:
