Getting rid of the Wolf.

I am probably going to sell the Wolf soon. Before I look at trading in to a dealership I thought I would gauge interest in a private sale. It is a 2009 with .569 easy start cams, passenger pegs, windscreen, and tailrack with passenger pad. It has a Doc's ESC and an unlocked VFI. Almost forgot the big radius exhaust and lithium starter battery.

It has a little over 5000 miles total, so still on factory tires. The reason I can't give exact mileage is a little complicated. The EHC died, so I replaced it with a DOC's ESC. He originally sent one wired for a Dakota speedo, but I have a Medallion. He had not done one of those before on a Wolf. When I went to rewire it, there was an unused battery hot wire with a 2amp fuse. Neither of us knew what it was for. Fast forward to Daytona this year, and leaving the hotel I notice that my speedo mileage reset. Turns out that always hot wire should be keeping the memory charged in the speedo, but instead mine is just wired with ignition hot wires. I can rewire it properly, but I still lost my original odometer reading. Sorry, jsousa, not parting out anything.

I don’t think that would cause you to loose your mileage.

if that were the case you would loose every time you replaced the battery.

The Medallion obviously has a battery backed memory that has lasted over 10 years, but I think the always hot battery wire is supposed to keep it charged forever. Right now if I ride the bike for a few miles, the odometer holds memory for several days, but then loses it. I have not decided how much I want to sell it for, but just wanted to know if there was any interest before even trying to figure it out. edit- Just checked the speedo and it has an always hot battery voltage going to it. I suppose something inside the Medallion speedo is just messed up.

The dealership trade in is a no-go, so I will be putting the wolf up for a private sale. Considering the upgrades I think I should be able to get $15000 out of it. If not, I still have enough room in the garage to keep it. I also still have the original cams, exhaust, and factory emissions locked vfi if somebody in California is interested.

I was thinking that since I am not strapped for cash, I should add "or trade' to my sale add. No telling what interesting vehicles or other items somebody may wish to part with in exchange.

Seems that the lack of availability for a replacement rear tire is a real deal killer for some people. If only I had known in 2009 that nobody else would ever manufacture a motorcycle wheel that needed a 220/50r20, lol.
HDM has an upgrade I believe that changes the wolf to support a tire that is still made. Not real cheap but will keep it on the road. Call Eric at 620-680-0395

If I wanted to spend big bucks to keep it, I know where to get custom billet CNC wheels. Problem is that I kinda wanted to free up some garage space and get back some money in the process. I do, however appreciate the info.
