Pack it yourself!!!!
I would not trust anyplace to pack my metal. I have shipped tanks and fenders both UPS and FedEx without a problem. My own packing though! Bubble wrap is your best friend! and tons of it. Make sure it does not move around .... especially after paint and make sure you wait (i suggest a week minimum) before sending back. I track everything and insure them.

Shippig to the painter; while important not exactly critical, a minor scratch or two - that's histroy in any case. What you do need to be careful about is protecting it from dings.
Wrap in a towel followed with buble wrap, get a GOOD SECURE box - some of these boxes have added protection at the seams (this can be accomplished getting some cardboard "elbows" and placing them across the seams). Helps prevent the corners and sides from caving in. Finally pack them in good with packing popcorn/peanuts - it should NOT be able to shift within the box. There you go all good for shipping out.
When shipping back the painters and their shops have all the tricks - first a protective foam like wrap... then followed by a self moulding packing, followed by packing peanuts and popcorn.
For shipping in either direction INSURANCE is a MUST - LOW value on the way there, HIGH value on the way back.
UPS or Fedex is fine....DO NOT FORGET FRAGILE STICKERS on the outside - lol
Don't sweat it - you will be fine. Good luck....(not sure where these are headed but from experience - just sharing.......be prepared you have a looooooooooooooong wait before you see those tins again):lol::lol::lol:

This is all good advice. UPS will pack your tins for you, but they will charge you for it. The up side to this is the painter can re-use all of the packing material for the ride home. Insurance is also a good idea, again they WILL charge you for it. But if you get enough, it would pay for any damages.
I like to wrap parts in a bath towel, and then tape it secure. Then completely mummify it in bubble wrap. Then fill the box with wadded-up paper and peanuts.
I usually won't ship for at least a week after I finish a job, so the clear has time to cure out a little. Nothing like packing materials leaving imprints on your fresh parts!
