Just want to say, Thanks! to to Corey, Tim and everyone else at Gateway Big Dog in St. Louis!!!

Bout 4:30 this evening was headed out to Ram's Park to meet some guys to go ridin when, while hotdoggin a bit, my idle cable broke loose. Normally I carry tools with me, but if you've ever tried putin one of them little bastards back on by yourself, then you know what I'm talking about! Takes about 12 hands!!! Plus, because I was so close to home, didn't worry about tool bag. (HA!!!)

Anyway. Literally soon as it happened, called Gateway. Told'em what had happened, and within 10 minutes (LITERALLY!) Corey and friends were there to put it back together for me! Admittedly, I was only a couple of miles or so away from the shop when it happened. But still...

Then when asked'em what I owed'em, they said, "Don't worry about it. You're a good customer." and left.

Un-fucking-believeable!!!

Needless to say, went ahead on the ride and everything was great. But tomorrow, I've gota do something special for those guys!

PS: And this wasn't the only similar instance. These guys just keep doing it over and over again!!! Am just soooo appreciative, that's all!

I always get good service from those guys. Here in St. Louis we are so fortunate to have Tim and his crew running the big dog dealership.

Yeah, they definitely have a great shop here and they seem to be moving quite a few bikes considering how things are right now...

A big contributor to them moving bikes has to be the service. Big dog shops have been like Russian roulette over the years. Some are very good, while others just plain suck.

All things considered, suprises me too how many bikes they're still moving.
Hey Dozer, I just missed you, I was up there for a while yesterday myself. I have to say they definitely move allot of bikes, it's amazing.

ANYTIME any of you guys are up here in my neck of the woods, jus give me a holler! We could always go out to grab a bite to eat or something. Or, if you're on that gorgeous-ass bike of your's, I could always try to figure out yet another way to drool all over it!!!:roll::roll::roll:

Jus sayin...

So true! I know of several that have folded simply because all they care about is sales. (Outright lied to buyers, etc., i.e., "Oh, that rear tire will last the life of your bike, etc.:roll::roll::roll:) Serves'em right, even though I personally feel it's a disservice to the BD brand. That's EXACTLY what they get! Goodbye and good riddance!!! :2thumbs: The truly good dealerships last and, although may be struggling a bit right now because of the economy, they still try. And I appreciate that!!!

As a sidenote: earlier this year, my ex bought a brand new 2010 Harley Deluxe right off the showroom floor. Paid cash. (Loooong story, but money was the result of a settlement after gettin hit while we were on my K9.) And although the Harley dealership has made halfass attempts to satisfy her, they've fucked up so many times I can't even begin to remember'em all. (For starters, actually DROPPED her bike while unstrapping it from the trailer upon delivering it to her house. Then literally STOLE a mirror off an Electra Glide Classic also on the trailer at the time to replace the one they'd damaged on her's when they'd dropped it. Her paint on the tank is already failing (and they say they're not responsible), and the lenses on her passin lamps are already discoloring and fogging up. Why, I don't know. They're glass, not plastic.)

Anyway. The point is: Seems like every week she's on the phone with her dealer, tryin her damnedest to get SOMETHING rectified. And trust me, she's NOT that goddamn picky!!! The dealer itself usually seems to do all it can, but it's Harley itself who keeps givin her problems. Perhaps little wonder, then that, when she's here, she takes her bike to my BD dealer. And they've always been great.

Jus kinda funny. Never seems to amaze non-BD guys I ride with just how utterly fuckin spoiled with service I am!!! And trust me...you guys don't even know the HALF of it!!!
