Gasoline Cocktail

I've owned my Mastiff for 6 days. I finally got to ride it today. I did 200 miles and enjoyed ever second. After 5 miles on the freeway my gas cap flew off the bike. I had a full tank and kept getting sprayed in the face with gasoline. My lips were burning, my mouth tasted like gas, my clothes smelled, and I loved it!!! After 50 miles I pulled into a gas station and put some tape over the hole in my tank and kept riding. I love my bike!

Montana - G@@D, OK make that GREAT attitude BUT living on the edge, not a bad thing BUT like TheDeadOne said - try staying alive :up:

You were having some (a ton) of issues with your cap to begin with - correct? Some venting issue, ordered a new one, etc.(Maybe it was some one else) - that aside curious as hell - How did you loose that...come on now - out with it...we all are friends, you can tell us :lol::lol:

Cool guys. Yes, I am a newbie around here. I was just trying to be friendly. I didn't realize this was such a tough crowd but it's all good. I will definitely keep myself safe and I always value the opinions of those who know more then me. I've always been a Harley guy (and I still am) but I'm loving my new Mastiff too.

I was the one having issues with the gas cap and vapor lock. Riding without the cap solidified the issue was indeed the gas cap. I live in Calif. and they're not allowed to sell a bike with a vented cap due to our emission laws. The dealership ordered one for me and I should have it on Wednesday or Thursday.

I look forward to learn from those of you who know more then me. I have some skills but I'm not a know-it-all. I'll be less of a talker and more of a listener in the future.

Thanks

Keep smiling.

Glad to have you here so enjoy the site and the fine members here even though they may have a bit of sarcasm!!! :D

Most of us that have lived in Kalifornia have ripped all that C.A.R.B. shit off. Both of my Big Dogs have been Kalifornia models but I've "fixed" them.
It's because of Kalifornia that all of us have the stupid vent tube in our tanks that breaks loose.

Thank you. I did understand. Sometimes a new members can make a big presence and put people off. I plan on sticking around and contributing when I have something to add to the conversation. You all seem like a great group of people and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Down here we call it 55 MPH tape.

We had a Bulldog down here split a gas tank. Id be careful with a gascap and no vent for that very reason.

I wonder if any of you guys got a sick dog like mine she keeps throwing up everytime on her nice paint right after I feed her, maybe I am over feeding her? as her gas cap seems to be saturated with gas and you kinda have to fling the gas out of the cap to empty it.
